He wasn't, but not being mind readers they didn't know that, and, well, he most certainly _could_. Try to imagine you're alone with someone that has 50lbs more muscle than you and wants to have sex right now. This is a real concern for most women. It's also _incredibly_ uncomfortable to acknowledge.

Of course, if you take this to it's logical conclusion the largest pool of insurable people is everybody; e.g. single payer health care. But once you've got a for profit insurance industry it's almost impossible to do away with it since they'll spend every penny they have to make sure folks don't realize they don't want or need yet another middle man.

Also, hadn't really thought just how rife for automation the Hotel industry is until now. Outside of the expensive ones where it's just for show I'll bet the only people on site in 10 years will be a few security guards to make sure nobody breaks in or sneaks too many of their friends into a room.
you can't just ride down to your local park. Cops will nail you for riding on the side walk and there's no bike paths. Drivers are generally hostile to bicyclists. I'm a roadie and I ride a lot, but I also make decent money and live away from the center of town without a 90 minute commute. I got incredibly lucky that way.
Going down to the city library isn't exactly getting out. It's a drive, followed by being inside for a bit, followed by another drive. Thanks to urban sprawl Most of the community events in my city are 50-60 minute drives for me, but YMMV. They're also not usually free or even cheap. There's no money in the city coffers to subsidize them.
