    If your a rational expert an you're wrong you admit you're wrong and make corrections. You are also always iterating. Always testing and improving. This is what people don't like about socialists. Unlike you're communism/capitalism with simple (and wrong) answers to complex problems socialism says you can't just fix it once and *bang* utopia. There's no such thing as a simple solution to a complex problem. If there's a simple solution then you're problem wasn't really complex, was it?

    there are a lot of lonely guys out there. A lot of 'em stuck in loveless marriages for financial reasons, mostly because of kids. If I had a dollar for every couple married because they dropped a kid I'd be a billionaire.

    Oh, and lots of people never learn to be cynical. It's a weird thought when you're a nerd because you learn cynicism at an early age when you're peers turn on you because when your better grades get you praise from teacher but you can't run as fast on the playground.

    Aren't doing more to stop this. I just cut the cord because my kid's off to college and I don't care about sports. The nerd stuff (read: anime) I watch is all online. Yeah, I pay $75/mo for decent internet, but for a while they were getting $150 mo outta me. Yeah, most of the mid west has data caps, but how much longer will they tolerate that?

    The Dems doing stuff like this is a result of the sharp turn right that happened when Regan took office. The Repubs formed a really nasty alliance out of wedge centered on social issues and a healthy dose of bigotry. They spent 40 years building that system with the likes of Karl Rove and the Southern strategy. It's naive and unrealistic to expect the Dems to tear It all down overnight. Compromises will be made. The solution isn't to throw your hands up and surrender. You do what Obama and Bernie do. You go as far left as you can. Vote for the most left leaning candidate you can. And for God's sake vote in your mid term election. You don't fix a problem this big overnight...

    and it's die shrunk counterpart the X1650. Amazing performance and image quality. But you're right, after that stability went to hell. I'd love to see someone put a modern mid-range Radeon through a large Steam library's worth of gaming and report back on Stability.

    or was this entire thing a disaster for the anti-Hilary camp. When they tried grilling him on Petraeus he was given the chance to defend his actions and provide evidence that Petraeus actions were willful. It's undermined the entire narrative. Meanwhile Trump's doing a lousy job with it too. Did they just botch the whole thing or have they given up and decided to side with Hilary rather than risk Trump?

    But once again you're ignoring how things work "in the trenches". The trouble is with "Possession" and how it's defined. If you stock a lot of the stuff (it's not like it doesn't have decent shelf life) then you'll get charged with trafficking. If you're poor, especially black, you'll plead and take jail time rather than risk going in front of a Jury and facing mandatory minimum sentencing.

    In the stats all these folks show up as plea bargaining for possession.

  10. thanks for that. Hilary is about as likeable as a water moccasin. I honestly think it's not because she's bad people but because all she does is work. It's hard to relate to someone like that. Being a woman doesn't do her any favors in that department either, which is a pretty messed up situation. Nice to see a rational defense of her. Thanks, it didn't go unnoticed or unappreciated.

    this is how prosecution works. You don't bring forth a case you know you're gonna lose. I'm not huge fan of Hilary. I've got buddies that live and breath because the Affordable Care Act expanded Medicaid enough for them to get their Meds. She's pretty much guaranteed to leave it alone so she gets my vote. But whatever side your on it'd be silly to try and prosecute her.

    All that said to be completely fair think about _why_ a prosecutor isn't confident with getting a conviction: because a jury wouldn't convict her. This is a criminal matter, so that's how these things work. This isn't the ruling class per-se. This is how our jury system works. It sometimes ignores law in favor of feelings. If you want to see an example of America's two tiered justice system ask any dirt poor man in jail for pot possession why he didn't get diverted to drug treatment like a pop star or even an attorney's son.

    as you used to. Yes, it is technically "thousands" but 3 or 4 thousand on a 6 year note is $60/month. Plus there's been a _lot_ of problems with modern cars as they struggle to meet the fuel & emissions standards. Looks at VW. Or Nissan's problems with CVT transmissions. Or Toyota's break issues (which turned out to be real). Having an active warranty is nice. Yeah, there are recalls, but it can be a pain to deal with if you're not the original owner. 2 or 3 extra years of not dealing with any of that is worth $60. Especially if you get stuck with a $3000 repair. You're gambling that you won't (something Americans seem to do a lot :(... )

    Also if you run your own business or you're in sales you need a new car to show off. Appearances matter for a lot of people. There are practical consequences for weak appearances even if the /. community prefers not to acknowledge them...

    be violating the EULA in the process of making their software work? Is it even possible to do a 'clean room' implementation of something like this? If nothing else the crazy broad anti-hacking laws can be invoked. But I suspect Blizzard would prefer not to do that since it makes it a criminal matter. That's not just bad press. I honestly think nobody wants that.

    Do you have any idea how valuable that number is to anyone partnering with Google? It's also likely to cause Google some headaches during their next round of negotiations with Apple. I'd want compensation too, and whatever they get probably won't be anywhere near what they lost. The threat of Dragging stuff like this out in the open during a lawsuit is one of the main reasons companies settle out of court.

    Man am I sick of the myth of bureaucratic waste. Did it ever cross your mind that the reason cuts start in those places is that there were most of the cost is? There's this belief (instilled by right wing think tanks looking to gut the commons for their own profit) that there's this magic "waste" that can be cut without impacting the quality of service and life.

    The worst words I've ever heard are "I'm from the gov't and I'm hear to help". It wasn't a man from the gov't saying those (one of those paid my friends insulin to treat his type 1 diabetes), it was a right wing politician looking to cut some billionare's taxes and pushing more bullshit austerity for everyone but themselves.

    high resolution cameras with quality flashes are cheap now. So is wireless internet. If you steal one of these there will be a video of you doing so and you'll go to jail. They'll be valued at over $100k too so it'll probably fall under grand larceny. In most places do it three times and we'll send you to prison for the rest of your life.
