"...maybe a link to a lot of indy sites where you can download really good music without all the claptrap of the **AAs hanging on? How about some links to sites that provide a one-stop shop for MP3s that both independent AND **AA artist have put out there for free? You know, like an aggregator of knowledge so that I'm not searching the entire frigging web for those free MP3s so that I can sample what a band has to offer musically? Maybe that is what _I_ expect to happen if I hosted/viewed/linked/browsed a site named "mp3s4free"..."
www.mp3s4free.net appears to no longer be available, but why don't you check out the Web Archive (copy entire URL):
It seems to me that keystroke logging would be a way of measuring non-productivity. I mean, you'd think that a computer technician would be working potentially on OTHER terminals and not necessarily the employee's primary system (depending on the job role). Why not just utilize software to capture technical issues and resolutions -- most of which probably have some sort of time-stamp functionality.
This is functionality that wouldn't make sense for the company i work for -- and I would wager many others as well -- since they hand each employee a laptop with a CD burner built in. Ahhhh... Nevermind. They'd do it anyway just to be pains in the ass.
...not use it as some file storage solution, file system, blog client and kitchen sink
I see your point, but if they're offering 1GB of space they HAVE to assume that peeps will use it to store stuff. I mean... c'mon... if I never, ever deleted a single (non-work) email in my whole life I doubt it would come close to 1GB... INCLUDING spam.
...Elijah Price has announced that his search can end. Of this tremendous discovery he said, "Now that we know who he is, I know who I am. I'm not a mistake. They called me Mr. Glass."
What if our ET friends don't believe in a god? Or what if they believe in a deity completely unrepresentative of an Earthly deity?
Doesn't their very existence contradict certain biblical statements? i.e. creating us in his own image (assuming they're little green men or something).
I think that if that time ever comes, we'll see the religious community clutching at straws to explain these sort of issues.
I didn't say, "Indians and Chinese can't have innovative ideas". People from any nation can have innovative ideas. Our competitive advantage is that our comparitive wealth, education, and market economy -- for starters -- help foster and realize that innovation.
I've always thought of the US as one of the great innovators; we generate ideas rather then products. One question I would ask is why shouldn't programming follow the same path as textiles and electronics?
"One patient does not a treatment make."
If your doctor is small, green and talks like this then there may be other forces at work.
"Win2000 Still Performs on 8-year-old Hardware"
It sounds like a punchline to a bad Michael Jackson joke.
I don't think you can do that. I think Amazon has a patent for digitally making suggestions and then, subsequently linking to those recommended items.

I'm sure you'll find the high-quality, indie-linking site that you would expect.
"Stephen Cooper, operator of the mp3s4free Web site, was found guilty of copyright infringement by Federal Court Justice Brian Tamberlin."
It seems to have been proven...
And what else do you expect to happen when you host a site named "mp3s4free"?

A huge market made up of people who don't buy music? Incredible! Electronic manufacturers should jump all over this niche!

If they had just put the same R&D into fire that doesn't burn, then we'd be all set!
Did anybody catch his name?
Lucky bastard...
