  1. Camo on Philips Shows Light Emitting Clothing · · Score: 2, Insightful

I think the best use for this would be camouflage. Imagine a cloth equipped with a pocket cam and CPU that tries to mimick the enviroment. Of course it would work better if it had passive lighting (like electronic paper).

  2. 4X space game on Ask Sid Meier · · Score: 2, Interesting

Dear Sid, Have you ever though of creating a game like Master of Orion? The genre could use some of your design. MOO3 was a design failure. The best game ever released was MOO2 and it was released in 1996! They miss the point of making ship design/ship combat fun, and it could use a lot of your last Pirates!

  3. dedicated server command line on Doom 3 Gets Reviews, Piracy Questions, Exultation · · Score: 1

+set dedicated 1 doesnt seems to work, does anybody knows the dedicated server command line?

  4. And who cares about the NY Times? on Searching for The New York Times · · Score: 1

And who cares about the NY Times? They have a fame of professional journalism that influences the media around the globe, but why? Do they really create much better journalism or is this result of some corporate propaganda? They even denied the false articles one of their writers created, and only when everibody knew it they admmited. Their are slaves of corporate interests just like any major journal. Here in Brazil, where we have Globo TV, which is praised for their professionalism and all, it doesnt matters that they lie and twist truth towards their bias, I cant believe when people that knows they lie praise them! F* power and propaganda changes peoples minds! How long did it take for the NY Times to have an independent ombudsman?

There are several companys in Brazil doing the same, using GPS, satellites and cel phones. It has been done for eight years for cargo trucks and 3 years ago for cars.

  7. its rather true on Linux Most Attacked Server? · · Score: 1

My company works with 4 linux boxes and 1 windows, windows got blaster, but 2 of my linux boxes were hacked last month (debian woody, both updated) ! The guy changed init and gave me serious headaches. I removed glftpd and reinstalled everything, but I fear industrial secrets were stollen :((( btw, I am a linux heavy user and my company manufactures embebbed linux devices.

  8. its amazing how much bs is said on Gates: Say No to GPL, Yes to the Microsoft Ecosystem · · Score: 1

Free software prodoce more software. Gimp has spawned hundreds of software. Havent heard of users of photoshop doing the same. I cant belive the president of Brasil inked an agreement with such guys, and closed the popular computer (based on linux) because of BS like THESE!

  9. I build and sell theses on Building An MP3 Jukebox From An Arcade Machine · · Score: 1

My company actually build and sell machines like these here in Brazil (www.ponto-i.net - page in portuguese). It has only four buttons (A bit tricky to name musics, but the simpler the better), 1800 watt sound (much better than creative 5:1 speakers), can rip and store CDs, has visualization plugins and use normal 21" or 29" cabinets (no vga!) monitors. Its built on top of linux, with linuxbios (3 secon boot), and SDL graphical interface.
