The question isn't "Why can't other countries contribute to the World Economy?" its "If the United States is able to contribute to the World Economy, why is it's companies sending the Design/Dev jobs to other countries?"
You act as if the same things that were used before encryption becomes useless, will still be used after encrytion becomes usesless. When Encryption becomes invalid, at the very least transactions will have to be performed by armored truck. Hopfully the hassels involved will bring a sea change to a non monetary system, one in which if someone doesn't want to work then they are treated as an invalid, and that is their incentive to work instead of money.
What protections do you take for granted? I don't like being here a whole lot either, but I guess it's better than being elsewhere on the planet for the time being.
Most environmentalists seem to believe that if we don't save species the Earth's machinery will get mucked up, making it uninhabitable by man. But that doesn't make for a good enough Star Trek plot apparently so they take this tack instead.
Somehow you missed the whole point of the movie, which was: "Oh my goodness, if we don't save the humpback whale, the Earth is going to become uninhabitable by humans!"
I thought that was the whole point of Windows. You mean that whole "Abort, Retry, Fail?" thing and the BSOD isn't just the computer taunting me? I mean, come on! A blue screen of death just because I took out the DVD the DVD player application was trying to play, what do you call that. Yeah, Yeah, I'm sure you'll just chalk it up to incredibly poor design, but still...
Except most businesses these days implement their websites so poorly. I want to be able to see the inventory of my local stores on the web and comparison shop so I don't have to run around, but no stores do that.
Now if only there could only be a genetic algorithm enhancement of current methods of finding the factors of large numbers whose factors are two very large primes.
You don't know how the economy works. Bonzi is a drain on the economy. The people working for bonzi would be better put to use working for some other company that might happen to buy ads on internet sites.
Amendments supersede the things that come before them... else we'd still be living under prohibition, besides the Constitution doesn't give copyright protection, just the opportunity for Congress to pass such a law.
Copyright is not about protecting innovation for the author, it is about protecting it for the public good. Copyright was given to encourage authors to produce so that their innovations would be made available to the public. Copyrights protect innovation from falling prey to potential authors other priorities.
Every Clock I've seen that indicates AM or PM operates with 12 noon being PM and 12 midnight being AM. You don't call that standard?
Well, I suppose if you've seen one camel, you've seen them all. Wait... Anime isn't a camel.

I thought it was the research into new technologies.
so that gives us what?
Just look at what you can achieve with power, and look at what you can achieve without it.
Pokemon and friends promote a better social framework than the one generally prevalent in American society.
California should be able to buy a few decent desalinization plants. The only reason they don't is that it is cheaper to get the water elsewhere.

The current system needs to be replaced, and that is the best method I can think of to replace it.

Because the fearless clone army makers saw them as a threat and wiped them out!
For some reason I really like #3. They're really not that important and getting rid of them will allow other faces to see the light.

The same passion that made Mechain such a remarkable astronomer also drove him to the brink of suicide and madness.
Oh sure, blame passion for madness. Are there any studies correlating passion with insanity? Even so, correlation does not causality make.
But immagine how much better citizens those children could be if they could only watch Farscape!
