The question isn't "Why can't other countries contribute to the World Economy?" its "If the United States is able to contribute to the World Economy, why is it's companies sending the Design/Dev jobs to other countries?"
You act as if the same things that were used before encryption becomes useless, will still be used after encrytion becomes usesless. When Encryption becomes invalid, at the very least transactions will have to be performed by armored truck. Hopfully the hassels involved will bring a sea change to a non monetary system, one in which if someone doesn't want to work then they are treated as an invalid, and that is their incentive to work instead of money.
What protections do you take for granted? I don't like being here a whole lot either, but I guess it's better than being elsewhere on the planet for the time being.
Most environmentalists seem to believe that if we don't save species the Earth's machinery will get mucked up, making it uninhabitable by man. But that doesn't make for a good enough Star Trek plot apparently so they take this tack instead.

A blue screen of death just because I took out the DVD the DVD player application was trying to play, what do you call that. Except most businesses these days implement their websites so poorly. I want to be able to see the inventory of my local stores on the web and comparison shop so I don't have to run around, but no stores do that.
Now if only there could only be a genetic algorithm enhancement of current methods of finding the factors of large numbers whose factors are two very large primes.
You don't know how the economy works. Bonzi is a drain on the economy. The people working for bonzi would be better put to use working for some other company that might happen to buy ads on internet sites.
Amendments supersede the things that come before them... else we'd still be living under prohibition, besides the Constitution doesn't give copyright protection, just the opportunity for Congress to pass such a law.
Copyright is not about protecting innovation for the author, it is about protecting it for the public good. Copyright was given to encourage authors to produce so that their innovations would be made available to the public. Copyrights protect innovation from falling prey to potential authors other priorities.

The current system needs to be replaced, and that is the best method I can think of to replace it.
