    My 8th grade teacher Mr. Burgess said that both an apostrophe after the s and an additional 's are correct alternatives for words ending in s, and given his name he would have some incentive on being sure about this.

  6. I've noticed how current Microsoft offerings bear quite some resemblance to those earlier assistant offerings but they determined that the "cute" animated creature was "annoying". So, get rid of it, job done!

  7. That sounds awfully like my strategy for temporarily restoring connectivity when my Virgin Mobile (which uses the Sprint network) has lousy connectivity. The T-Mobile/MetroPCS network had better connectivity for the location I'm referring to, but MetroPCS customer service is substantially worse.

    The pieces you are failing to put together is that as you said, politicians aren't very smart. Therefore they will try to profit even if they cannot. And the funny thing about inflation is that it can look to you as if you are profiting when you are not.

    The big problem I have is with the general failure to identify what constitutes "creative expression" and what constitutes elements of necessity.

    Now I have things though I can incorporate into my works. I am against the concept of intellectual property in general but greater access to works that aren't under such restrictions is a start. Now we can also begin to determine what elements of current works are copyrightable and not already in the public domain. Similarity to a public domain item is defense against infringement due to similarity to a copyrighted object when the same similarity is at point.

    Or, you know, how about a game that clearly identifies skills and how to work on improving them, as opposed to games that rewards people based on already being good at a given skill or just playing possessing no skill.

    What you want is the connector to separate, not so much the connector to break.

    If we don't stop this absurd notion that all men are created equal and start figuring out what classes live best by which rules, you will always wind up with a situation where there are de facto different rules for the rich and poor. Class doesn't break neatly down into rich and poor either.

  20. I've done detasseling, and while I wasn't really bent over it was in a field day-in and day-out and in the condition I was in at the time, wasn't all that bad. Wouldn't do it in my condition these days though.

  25. I don't see how his statement minimizes the damage. To me it was a statement of how if someone official wanted to attack the right to protest a much bigger roundup would have been made.
