I often click on a background window to bring it to the front. Windows sends that click to the window and if there is a control there, it will active. It isn't that hard to have Windows not pass the click to the window and just send a bring to top message, but no, they won't do it.
The textfiles site has a collection of old CD. One of them has virus signatures that trigger Windows Defender, among others, and some of them are quite harmless.
Failing to to take a step back and identify why something is difficult and then figuring out to eliminate that difficulty happens a lot as far as I can tell.Hopefully, things will not stay "not that unusual".

Out of memory problems are because Microsoft is stupid. I don't know what Microsoft should really be doing but using the information at that link helped lots.
What do cat lovers have to do with anything? Isn't it a documented and indisputable fact that crazy old ladies eat cat food after they have run out of human food in the house? Kind of like: "I'm eating cat food? Must be running out of food... gotta go to the store again!"
I meant without singling out just the facts they don't like, they are going after everything, so it isn't just those. It would be really odd if they got rid of just stuff they were okay with leaving the stuff they didn't like.

That is for each of us to figure out for ourselves. But that is not to say we are not to compare notes. The benefit of the current situation is that people are coming around to the fact that they might actually have to do some research to figure out who that is.
