    Not sure about the exact law in diff. municipalities or if its a federal matter, but misrepresentation of goods in the way you described is punishable by a pretty hefty fine IIRC.

    Enterprise is almost canceled, star trek as we know it is nearly dead and berman is never gonna do anything cool. It does sound like a cool idea, but i doubt it would ever happen, too out there for any network, a Section 31 based series would be much cooler and much more workable IMHO.

    I like mythbusters, but sometimes they miss the point. I've had cards get scrambled by exposure to low level fields. Check out what snopes has to say. A low power magnet can affect a magstrip, espicially over time, like constantly sitting in/sliding in and out of a wallet. I doubt those anti-theft deactivation pads they tell you not to put cards on at the store are thousands of gauss. Also, i cant think that fridge magnet strength magnets would hold anything onto anything real well. I

    Who said the movies gonna be 90 minutes. Thankfully hollywoods lengthening movies a bit on average latley. Cant remember last movie i saw in theaters that was shorter than two hours. Not that i expect much of the average american attention span, but the most sucessfull (imho) movies of the past 3 years have all been well over 3 hours. :p

    Didn't someone mod a powerglove to do something like this a while back, i remember something about it on here. Also a sibling post mentioned it, pair this with a projector and a piece of treated glass (i remember someone figuring out how to do this, but i cant find a link, anybody?) for a minority report like interface... found the /. link to the powerglove thing...

    I've tried gyroscopic mice and havn't been impressed, a handheld wireless trackball is just as good, but would it be possible to make an optical mouse that didn't need any surface. A sensor with a focus of more than 2mm that could make it work like a normal mouse, but in the air... Is this possible or would some sort of auto focus introduce to much lag to make it usable for normal circumstances (not gaming).

    The silm is a history book of middle earth. Interesting as it is, it would be nearly impossibly to translate to film in any sort of meaningful way.

    The simplest way to beat the driver is to either get out of the car right away, and snipe his tires, or, how i beat it... Just knock into him at the start of the race. The sabre turbo has better acceleration, but it doesn't have the handling or the speed the sentinal do, yes, the sentinal has a higher top speed than the sabre. If you can spin him out at the start of the race you can beat him easily.

    These guys, i've used their stuff at school and at a theatre i work at sometimes, its a combination of a computer(non windows, custom OS iirc...) and a light board. Very nice, , very modular and very easy to use. And since their stuff is used by schools and a small local theatre it cant be that expensive.
