Yeah, but since it doesn't have to be tested and shielded like NASA spec hardware does, a similar system based on more modern hardware could probably handle input at a faster rate.
The problem with touchscreens isn't security. This happened in florida i think, world capitol of screwing up elections. Older voters with poor eyesite would slide their finger along underneath the text when reading candidates names.

But really, kids have common sense, theyre not gonna sit there and make calls in the middle of a lesson durring class, and if they are stupid enough to do that then yeah, they should be confiscated. I had mine confiscated when i was calling for a ride after school. My mom had to come get it, the vice principal explained to her that it was a saftey issue because they could be this. I refrained from calling bullshit on him then and there because he said he'd seen one, he implied in person at his previous, hellhole, of a school, not on the news, because your average high school thug is not going to have secret agent type tech. And this kinda turned into a rant, i have a personal beef with the guy, but thats another story...
Most school districts have old policies (hell, its a state law here in WI) prohibiting cell phones and pagers because only drug dealers and gang members have/need them...
What original characters? There were 3. Doyle, and the actor who played him is dead. And Charisma Carpenter left, i'm assuming, because of her baby, they wrote the pregnancy in well, but she probably doesn't want to deal with the show now. Besides Lorne, Fred and Gunn (who IMHO are all great characters) the rest of the cast and recent guests (Willow, Andrew) are all from Buffy.

UPN needs something, with buffy gone and enterprise sucking big time they need something to draw viewers. Off the top of my head I cant think of another show besides enterprise and syndicated simpsons thats on UPN...

Not time consuming, pull out the PSU, wait half an hour for the caps to discharge, couple of screws, some tape and a ziptie later and you have your lovley clear unsheilded FCC angering PSU. *note: i have done this mod, but not for myself, having an unshielded power supply in a midtower sounds like trouble to me... theres a reason things are made out of metal.

Depends what you use it for. Gaming lapto... i dont know if its worth $1k more to not have to lug your tower to lan parties, but i have a tiny cheap ($200) laptop i got used that i use with wireless on the couch for browsing, IMing and e-mail while watching tv. Not everyone wants a super expensive desktop replacement for a laptop.
Never look back on computer hardware you bought. I'm working on a killer gaming/multimedia rig to last me through college. Already the prices i got a week ago are down by as much as $5 on some parts(video card).
Desktops... you have a point. Its easy and cost effective enough to build your own desktop, unless you dont have a lot of free time and want something that just works. But do you know anyone whos built their own laptop?
Copy of the windows source is leaked from somewhere, floats around, etc, Through a watermark or something it is traced back to the source. That person claims their box was hacked, points to obvious weak point in code that allowed it to happen. This would probably be the most embarassing thing possible for microsoft.
We got a Sony D8 handycam last year for a, at the time, amazing price of $500. Its a decent camera for the price, and we've certanly gotten good use out of it, and i find sony products pretty well built. I think we spent another $300 or so on acessories, tripod, firewire card, hard drive etc. The picture quality is excelent, looks especially good on a tv, and still quite good on an xvga monitor. I really think we got the best deal for our money, although if someone came into some money we'd probly upgrade to a GL-1 or something of the likes.

The scene with the CG jabba was terrible because it was done over a scene with a live actor. I cant find any pictures, i have seen them somewhere though, but originally jabba was just a fat guy. They cut the scene in the original and were able to make jabba a non-humanoid in Jedi.
Just from the description in the/. blurb this seems to have a very different purpose from A and B. This seems like a script kiddie just for the hell of it kind of thing more than a spam tool.

The case i'm ordering has excelent airflow, 92mm fan up front, 120mm in back. Should cool the card pretty well.
