Of course, there's exception to every rule. The first 17" PowerBook has had a pretty much flawless run. Well, the power adapter did caught a fire due to material weakness. But other than that...solid!
I was more specifically referring to the 3d-craze that surfaces now and then (more recently with Spy Kids 3D). It's just a gimmick and most everything requiring people to wear glasses has thoroughly sucked.
This does not mean that 3D-animation is "crap". Look at anything from Pixar and the Shrek-franchise. The medium does not get in the way for the fun and creativity. Escape from Monkey Island (4) on the other hand was hard to control and the 3d-figures looked utterly out of place on it's backgrounds. They should have used the style from Curse of Monkey Island instead (with just higher res), that would have looked and worked better.
Those concept sketches look a helluva lot more intriguing than those sloppy 3D-renders. Why can't the gaming-industry take a hint from the movie-industry here? Not everything is better with 3D.
I loved the way you put that "P.S - can anyone spare $2k so i can get my own G5?:)" comment on the end to prevent you from being modded as Flamebait;-)
Apple knows that there are a great bunch who will deride the iPod mini and say "but I can get 11GB more for just $50 more". In fact they count on it. Either way Apple wins.
That Compute magazine article was some of the most beatuiful thing I've read. It captures the excitement of the macintosh launch and Steve Job's personality and showmanship to a tee.
And you know what? That article could just as well have been written today. Thanks for sharing!
"During the last few weeks, however, information leaked out from software developers, dealers and reporters who had seen the Mac but had signed agreements not to disclose data about the product. The Mercury News was not given a so-called sneak preview and has not signed a non-disclosure agreement."
- MercuryNews, the precursor to sites like Think Secret and Mac Rumors.
as in "Number portability has been here for a few years", because frankly here it has. Yes, I've taken my numbers between carriers and can barely even remember what it was like to change numbers when you changed carriers.
Well, good luck on that. It's a logical step and you too will one day forget about life in the stone age.

You guys obviously don't come from Scandinavia. Happy easter vacation!
Oh, why am I spending my non-working time here again?

Tiny must be more relative in your world. Did you look at the pictures?

Well, they would still preview the output on video monitors I guess. What kind of screens they use to construct the models, etc. is less important.
CDBaby sells their downloads through iTunes, making it the best choice for indie artists wanting to reach a wide audience.
By asking that question you must believe they will get even close to that number of codes.

(happy with my 40GB iPod)

Sorry. It still reads 1-24-84. Look at the difference in the font from the other zeroes. That's an 8 my friend.
When you say that it's a technical improvement over the mini-iPod, do you refer to the fact that it's
a) much heavier
b) much larger
c) more expensive
or even that it
d) has a god-awful interface (according to the guy above who actually tried one)?
Please respond, I'm anxious to know.
The moment you mentioned OGG you flagged your post as a troll.
:-)
Oh, and I'm sorry you chose to encode your files in a format no one use.
You swapped the word iPod with Aerio in two sentences.
At least that must have been what the mods thought.
I just can't stop singing...

His page also contains the best review of a PowerBook 17" that I've ever read.
