If something in your computer is compromised, you are f*cked. At defcon they demonstrated the ability to infect multiple hardware devices on the PCI bus, so even if you manage to get rid of the malware from one device, it was still spreading from the rest.
No no, this is great for submarines, just sit there and wait for the torpedo to hit you, and then in the last second, you unleash the balloons and instantly jump 10 feet away!
He said in the EU, if you are applying for a visa from outside, you are obviously not, within the EU. Granted, he is still sorta wrong, if you have a conviction, it will generally expire on your rep sheet, unless you are applying for anything that requires working with children, security or any such like positions.
Denmark is a good example, they are not to be flown within 150m of any building.
Interestingly enough, this is not a problem for R/C enthusiasts, but drone "operators" seem to think they can do as they damn well choose.
Have had people do low flyover with their drone, no marking, no information on how to get hold of them and they are not flying in line of sight, if that fucker crashes into someone and causes bodily harm, its near impossible to pin responsibility.
Well the positive thing about the EU finally getting involved is they have no trouble dealing out billion dollar fines.
But this goes *way* beyond Amazon. The director of the department where the lady in charge of investigating this (Magrethe Vestager) is the former prime minister of Luxembourg and *might* be deeply involved with the tax evasion.
Some very interesting times ahead, especially for Luxembourg...
Screw New York, at least it was only parts of the city.
As it looks now, most of Miami and big parts of southern Florida will be permanently flooded, yet you guys are still building in the lower areas. Some estimates that a sandy sized storm hitting Florida in the right spot could have the global insurance industry collapsing over night.
No we are paying 36 Ãre/kwh, which is around 6 cents, the rest is taxes, transmission and other fucking bullshit stuff. (Which basically means, you can save close to 0 by switching providers, as the main part of your electricity bill is fixed).
Why would we want to keep them around for that contingency? The post you are replying to is correctly stating that we are self sufficient in gas and oil.
Also, if Denmark ever went to war with Russia, we would be wiped off the map in the first few hours as we are a strategic staging point for the US and allies (Basically, everyone where pointing nukes at Denmark during the cold war).
You know how we know you are from the US? Because you are talking out of your fucking ass!
Here in Denmark, they have stopped suing random torrent users, because it is impossible to show that the owner of the connection has in fact done the deed. The only people to have been sued lately are those whom either originally uploaded a torrent (and can be proven to have done so) or people making money of of it.
Now the trial here is going to go to Landsretten, and most likely to HÃjesteret (Supreme court) *and* if Wargs lawyer is any good, it will probably also end up in human rights court; there are so many bad things about it, it is probably the worst case of injustice ever (even if he has in fact done anything wrong).

While I totally agree with the one-line bullshit, I'd just like to point out, that in fact, you can't collapse the linux kernel into a one-line statement this way; Parts of the code is using macros and they will fail if you put them on the same line.
1. Just because you work on something for a year, doesn't mean it's good (in fact, most successful startups will tell you to ship early and see if you are on the right track). 2. 4.99 is a lot of money for an app, it might be the second coming of Jesus - but most people will look for a 99 cent alternative.
I think the point OP is trying to make is that, with so many good programmers, why can't gmail remove the spam so the false positives are left behind, making his sifting through it easier.
Obviously OP is missing a huge swoosh about this idea...
No idea what QS is, but looking at MIT vs. Bologna it's quite clear it's an American company and that there is no obvious reason for their decision in ranking (Both have top marks in the 4 common categories, but by the looks of things MIT have decided to pay for additional "information", which normally gets you ranked higher).
We have unions in Denmark and you can fire people easy enough. And then there are countries like France, where you can't fire people at all, not thanks to unions.
The unions in the US have way too much power, and that is a business stifling problem; but that doesn't mean unions are a bad thing.
Also, it is a good opening for discussing specifics, why use one or the other, what problems have you experienced using that container etc.
And to answer OP; There can be myriads of reasons why you are not getting a job, but just reading this short introduction to who you are, I already know I'm not hiring you. You seem to think having a Ph.D entitles you - I'd rather hire someone with a solid foundation in theoretical CS, but with years of practical experience; that is someone who got a b.sc or perhaps a masters, but worked her ass off getting pratical experience. People with a Ph.D is quite often not a good fit in a work environment, you tend to have a very very good knowledge of a very specific field and in CS that is basically a death sentence - we want people who gets excited about all the new shiny, yet still have the fundamental understanding CS.
That was one thing that sorta pissed me off with the iOS 8 update. If you agree to the new iCloud system, you are locked out of shared data until Yosemite is released; when you got some non backwards compatible features, you better make damned sure your brethren can get all their shinys at once.
I have that problem with my 2. gen. iPad, iBooks etc. will stall at random places, which is a huge pain.
The iOS 8 upgrade on my 5s however went smooth and I'm sorta loving it, but bit annoyed by the extra apps being forced down and can't be removed/hidden.
That's fine and dandy, except the equipment I'm using is Ant+; so yeah, in a few years when the fitness centers have recouped their investments and the next generation(s) of equipment is out, then perhaps BLE is the way forward.
The problem with the bluetooth version is it sucks in environments where you have a lot of people using HR devices, on top of that, it's problematic in environment where you have a lot of people who are not using the same equipment every time. Pairing bluetooth vs. ant+ is annoying and cumbersome. And then theres the ability to transmit information, ant+ support vastly more simultaneous channels compared to BLE, so I'm actually a bit confused as to why you think we are going away from it and why you think it's a good thing (other than battery)...
I was hoping the Apple Watch would include Ant+, but it looks like they expect fitness centers to switch to bluetooth, so it's going to be a pass from here.
If the reason women don't participate is because women are more likely to have their edits reverted when people see they are done by a feminine name
Or you know, women could find the interface horribly bad to work with and don't find the time required to learn it well spend? Personally I can't be bothered learning the markup and thus I can't be bothered contributing.

It's flawless!
Not only will this produce more piracy of the games - they are giving ammo to piracy advocates.
You wouldn't steal from good guy Steam, but you would steal from evil overlord UBISOFT!
Easy on the clackson there soldier.

Birdstrikes are known to destroy engines and you really don't want to be flying a fully loaded water bomb and lose half your power...

Love the way you laugh at the 4.99 statement, and then proceed to claim that software priced at 4.99 can't be good.
You are like the wine connoisseurs, if the price tag isn't above $100, it can't be good. Silly person.

Christ life in the US must be bad.
I can't remember the last time, where I saw an office where people did not have those desk.
Also, $1000 is chump change compared to the costs of an employee and even worse a sick employee, so it doesn't make sense to save a few dollars there.
