  1. Re:Wouldn't this heat the beer? on PeltierBeer · · Score: 1

No, as the peltier device does active cooling, making the hot side of it (bottom in this case) hotter than the outdoor temperature, resulting in a net cooling as the heat is dumped into the air.

  2. Different form of renting? on Microsoft Prepares Alternative To Apple iTunes · · Score: 2, Insightful

I don't mind the idea of 'renting' the music, but the price is too steep for the amount of music I would listen to. Seriously, how many people have 7500 songs they listen to on a regular basis? Is there a subscription service where I can pay to rent by the song by the month (to the tune of a few pennies per month per song)?

  3. Re:Slam his customers on I, Spammer · · Score: 1

Oh, I like this idea! Set up a small script which accepts forwarded spam emails. Pulls out the URLs from the spam, parses the pages on that site, recording any email addresses (spammer style!). Then forwarded 10 copies of the email back to the advertising company. How long would it take for companies to realize that the positive response (sales) from spam isn't worth the negative response (drowning in emails)?

  6. Fantastic Idea! on Mission: Infiltrate the P2P Network · · Score: 1

Why didn't someone else think of this? Use this whole patent mess to our advantage. We should've patented this idea as a way of preventing this company from flooding the p2p networks with crap. Can I get a patent for a piece of software which scans p2p networks and logs which users are sharing large amounts of copyrighted materials for purposes of electronically attacking them or filing lawsuit against them?

How will they generate your SSN? It's based on where you were born, the year you were born, and then some extra digits to identify you personally. Without knowing the location you were born, they can't come up with your full SSN.

I completely disagree, as in your example your as assuming that the judge will approve the warrant. The police could go throw the garbage, have the warrant refused, and say 'Oh well, we already have the evidence and it was obtained legally'. Why not work on shortening the time required instead of giving more leeway to the police?
