I see Apple iPhone ads almost ever other commercial break. Direct ones from apple, and carrier branded ones.. They are on constantly... I see giant Android signs up in malls.
Complex? Impersonating the home line is actually a FEATURE sold with many of these services so you can call from lets say, your cell phone but have the call appear to come from your home. It often also works like a calling card does, making the cell call a local call. It is trivial to do.
Ad more features on the same hardware and it gets slower.. This goes for almost any OS. The only issue here is that on embedded devices you can't always go back once you move forward.
I purchased a BlureRay player specifically because it was cheap and had Netflix built in.. Months later the ONLY BlureRay I have is the one that came with it, the content I watch with the device is all Netflix and my own media streamed via a DLNA server.
FTP is evil for simple firewalls but most advanced firewalls can rewrite the control commands or read them to open the right ports. SFTP is something totally different, but since it uses a tunnel it isn't that bad for firewalls. FTPS is the a nightmare! It has the random port problems of FTP but also encrypts the commands so there is no way for the firewall to figure out what ports will be used.
My three year old loves to yell out "XBOX" and "Cancel" every time I try and use it, and some times randomly when on the XBOX, this causes all sorts of random navigation fun.
For all those complaining about waving, it is voice activated as well.
Looking back at my past experience I have never had trouble finding interesting women to chat with. It isn't a problem as far as I can see. However finding a physical partner to live life with and all the fun stuff that comes with that can be, well at least if you are shy.
What if we put a leading 0. on it so it is 0.81.0 then it would follow the naming standard of a bunch of open source projects that almost never seem to get to or past version 1.0
Part of getting the McAfee SECURE Certification IS passing a vulnerability check, they pass there own check, so clearly their check isn't that good.
"With McAfee SECURE for Websites, your site is scanned daily for thousands of hacker vulnerabilities. McAfee, the largest dedicated security company in the world, does this remotely, without any need for expensive or complicated hardware or software. Once certified to this high standard of security, McAfee SECURE customers showcase their safety status by displaying the McAfee SECURE trustmark."
I created a post on this already (probably while you were posting this) they DO scan the site, and it is McAfee SECURE CERTIFIED. Shows what it is worth.
I seem to recall an interview around when IE 7 started up to get IE out of the IE 6 rut that the IE devs where stripped down to a bar bones team for a long stretch because there was no company support for them to DO anything new... Seems like with IE 9 they where given some power to innovate and compete.. I am actually impressed with IE9, it is not going to be my primary browser but I am sure happy that it could be the new default when I sit down at someone else's computer.
Damn, I had mod points last week.. That serverfault link was very informative but what I expected.. If you have a large site you are really going to want to have SSL accelerated load balancers in front of your web servers... The load is substantial.
About 50% of users run one version behind on Android where as around 50% run the LATEST version of iOS with the rest of the versions scattered.. iOS users can get the latest OS much faster (officially) than Android users.
The Nexus one barely got 1 years of updates then OFFICIAL compatibility was dropped but you could get updates by rooting. Apple has been providing updates for 3 years for each of the iPhones before they become End of life, then users are left with Jailbreaking to get more features.
Actually I find the Copy left licences have far more demands than any commercial licence. You can spend huge amounts of time figuring out if you can link or not link, how you must publish the code and how you can distribute the application.
With commercial software you are often presented with a library or set of tools you can or can't bundle with your product, past that there is no code to deal with most of the time..
Given the track record of McAfee and some other AV vendors for releasing signature files that falsely detect and remove crucial system files I am not looking forward to any embedded functions.
- Credit card activation - Bill payment by credit card or first time set-up of automatic payments - Checking your credit card balance - Calling in to dispute a charge - Calling in to find out why a card has been declined (happens to me often when on vacation due to over sensitive fraud protection) - Calling in to get a lost or stolen card replaced - Ordering take-out or delivery
In that case the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 are all categories.
If we make it an iOS vs Android debate then the Nexus line from google are the only comparable ones where the OS is direct distributed by the Software company for the platform and regular updates are provided without the hardware maker and the carrier getting in there to block the updates or mess with the UI experience..
RIM now offers Companies BESX a lite version that is free and offers at least the same features as active sync without needed special BES data plans.

Where is the MS Windows Phone Marketing?

Quote FTFA "Join us in a toast to FTP - at 40 years of age, it’s lasted well and looks like it will remain a relevant technology for years to come."
That is like saying we should still be driving the Model T and expect it to still be around.

Don't worry, I checked and the site is McAfee SECURE CERTIFIED

You can load contacts into an iPhone via Gmail if you want if you have it setup via activesync/exchange mode or a .99c app will let you import a csv..
You could do this with free and pay apps available for windows mobile 5.x-6.x as well.

Good point, I didn't realize XP allows an ME upgrade. However looking back 2000 was still the better option before XP came out..
Oddly enough XP is sort of a fusion of 2000 and the NEW features in ME like system restore and many of the UI ideas introduced in ME.
Damn, I meant the G1 Google first phone not the Nexus one..
Probably not 60% right now, but the roll out is WAY slower than iOS devices

I thought of ME, however he could not use it since there is no upgrade path from ME to anything, it is a dead end.
Na as soon as such a project gets started, a team will start fighting and a fork will appear.
