I think the point is a complete computer newbie who has no desire to learn computers the CLI is too much and will always be too much. The experienced Win user and/or old DOS user will be able to eventually enjoy the power of the command line. Most Mac poeple I know would never use the CLI.
I came from the old school dos/win user. I'm still running win2k for games. I have my priorities straight though, Windows is a toy and *BSD/Linux can be both a toy and a serious tool.
Or Magic Carpet 2... don't know if first release could do this. Great game for PC, had amazing visuals for a 486. You could do spells that would dig valleys and if you cast one strong enough or cast the same spell enough it would go all the way down to water. The volcano spell would leave a huge mountain behind when it was done. Damn I think I'm gonna have to dig this game out.
I should of put a:). I wasn't being completely serious. I work with NT servers, but they do get on my nerves of course in reality we don't have to reboot them twice a day.
I don't believe the I know the end of the universe. If it were to end at any one of the moments, then it would end and humans would cease to exist and there would be nothing we could do about... like try to find an explanation... I don't see the point to that question, but I tried to answer as best as I could.
Obviously we don't truly know the answer, as a fairly young species humanity is still working on those answers. At least some of us aren't picking a made up story sticking with it with out any proof.
But one possible theory to your question would be what Einstein thought of. He stated that energy (and matter?) cannot be destroyed or created, just their states can be altered. So what created the dirt, nature, etc? Nobody, it was already there and has been and won't ever go away. Just their states will be always changing.
What is outside of space? I dunno... nothing, more space, is it really relevant? Someday humans may be able to go out and look I suppose.
While you are looking at unproven book everyone else will look at actual evidence and the world around them for answers.
Can you read Hebrew? Can you give your interpretation of the original Bible? I'm sorry but distorting and twisting the word of the Bible to something logical is not the way to prove Christian God's existence.
So I should believe this just in case? And humanity should just except it with out proof instead of trying to figure out the true origins life. What if a different entity is god and not the Christian god? He/She/It would be pretty pissed at you for believing that Christian nonsense.
What would be worse is if another intelligent life form had their own religion completely different than ours and their religion in fact knew of the real god. We may never know for another million years until we find the life form. Unless their god came to visit us, but that's not how gods work, they don't want factual data to prove their existence.
That adaptation of Nightfall was the most horrible thing I have ever seen in my whole life. The moron responsible for that must have had a personal vendetta against Asmiov or something.
I guess what made it worse was, when I saw it I was expecting low budget, but with a story like Nightfall it wouldn't matter. I did not expect them to mutilate the story and use worse actors than me (I can't act).
Exactly! That was one of the most insightful comments I've read in a while or maybe it just seemed like you took my thoughts straight out of my head and posted it.
I always felt that TNG made the line fuzzy between machine and human. Bicentennial man came along and made the line completely blurry.
Well, I think his comedy is for a younger audience. I especially make that assumption after seeing MiB 2 recently. As his comedy starts to get old and stupid, I really wanted him to shut up after the first 20 minutes of MiB 2, the children are most likely laughing till the end.

Finding diesel fuel in the US is easy. So many 18-wheelers on the road. I'm not sure where you live to struggle with finding diesel.
I continue to wonder why every kernel release some one must complain why it isn't news or express how they don't care. Slashdot does not revolve around you, although by tweaking some of your preferences you can get it close.
It's a netgear 8 port 10/100 hub. I tried the adapter for my 4 port 10 base-T hub and the 8 port one just flashes and shows collision lights. I thought it was broken untill I noticed the amp difference. I believe the 4 port adapter had 800ma, so it was way under powered for the 8 port.
I needed a 5v 3amp power adapter. I looked through all the shelves first. I avoid asking anything at all cost. So I broke down, even after pointing out that the highest amperage(sp?) was 1000ma. I kept on repeating all I see is up to 1 amp, I need 3amps. They could not understand this simple request. They kept asking about the connecter size, blah blah. Again, "Are they any adapters capable of 3amps?" Finaly I was ok, I guess you don't have it and left.
I sort of wish they would make a more hard sci-fi strek movie. I know it wouldn't be much of a hit. Hell it could be a lower budget tv movie. Then all the geeks would see it and a lot of money could be made.
I just hate star trek being dumbed down for the masses.
Although I somewhat agree about these marginal speed increases. As I don't buy the latest and greatest. I upgrade when there is a substantial increase at an affordable price. I still see this as a good thing. I would much rather see technology getting better little by little at frequent intervals rather than not at all. I don't think these companies could afford to develope a 25% increase product everytime. The amount of time that would be involved would increase much more. Second as I stated above the consumer does have the choice to wait for dramatic increases or upgrade every 6 months.

So because of the second law of thermodynamics (which I have heard of) the christian god is in fact real?

Actually if the housing containing the driver is ruptured it will still remain quiet because compressed gas is required for the loud noise.

Whatever dooling is, sounds fun, point me to a book that induces this. ;)
I'm not a spelling nazi, hehe, it just reads funny.
Well I don't know how you are running perl (as root?) or you set /etc with 666 permissions. I couldn't get perl to modify /etc unless I tried.

My Geforce2 mx came with only a heatsink. It's a cool looking blue heatsink and can be overclocked a bit.
RTFA for the results.

This sounds like what I am looking for. One question, how easily can you read ebooks on it?
For the price to performance ratio apache wins.

This is to both of you...
Power consumption is also reduced by a full 36% according to NVIDIA.
Says Tom's hardware on this page.
