I would go with 3D Studio Max or Maya. Maya seems to be the industry standard in Hollywood, at least that is what I have been told. Lightwave is pretty weak. I've never tried Blender

This thing must have some funding...their web server seems to be able to take a beating. It is full of good quality images, and although slow it keeps going.
Does this have to do with the DDOS attacks that happened a couple weeks ago? Why else would they not make an announcement? OTOH, the perpetrators of the attacks wouldn't be fooled for long by a name change.
No big suprise here. CNN just predicted incumbent Gray Davis the winner of the California Gubenetorial election through statistical analysis of currently tallied votes.

It certainly helps if it isn't locally enforced. If local officials don't press charges or a local judge throws cases out the feds may never catch wind of it or bother to deal with it.
Obviously is isn't just about "one's ability to get high." It is about our civil rights and about people being able to get proper medical treatment. What the hell is the point of making a plant illegal?
They probably have one on the project's web site, one on source forge, maybe one on Fresh Meat, etc. Just pick one of these ones that are associated directly with the project and they should be able to find it.
Sorry Folks...go home.

Why not just submit it by whatever means you find? Anyone who is going to work on the code will know of each place to look for bug reports and they will find it.
This would be pretty cool if it was made artificially intelligent through a neural network. It could use its neural network to determine the best way to distribute across the physical network of computers.
This sounds like a step in the right direction. It is the kind of music pricing/distribution paradigm that makes the most sense to me. I only hope that this can also lower the barrior for new artists. If they will give new artists a chance on their web site it could decrease the power of the record companies.
Patience and professionalism is a must in IT support. You wouldn't last long without it. I am not sure how your analogy applies. Some users are too stupid to understand the problem they are having, and I am guilty of not trying to explain it them (just fixing it and then feeding them BS), but I don't take things (legs) away from them if they can't operate it properly. What frustrates me is that is the people that can't perform their job without calling IT support at least once a day, often about the same problem that has been carefully explained to them numerous times. These people shouldn't have jobs...but I suppose I wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for them.
I haven't had Dr. J yet, I will next semester for "data structures," but I hear he is good. I agree that Steinback is excellent. I have another excellent professor this semester, Tyson Henry (yes, first name Tyson...last name Henry). The other two CS professors I've had were horrible. I am only doing the CS minor so hopefully I won't have to suffer through too many more bad professors. I agree that the department sucks, but hopefully folks like Juliano, Steinback and Henry and make it better and show the rest of the department how it should be done. Hopefully they'll trim off some of the dead wood, like that wanker F!$k.
I hadn't heard anything about ~10 professors retiring or quitting, I haven't noticed any missing professors. CS isn't my major though so I might not be up on the latest info.

Excellent point. There are many people who are repeat offendors and are certainly stupid! Some of these people are even supposed to be technically inclined according to their job description at the University.
That be funnier if it didn't really happen...all the time. I work at a University and I get at least one call a day: "Is the server down?" There are many many servers on campus and it is (almost) never the server causing the problem. Users wank up their software configuration and then blame it on "the server" instead of their own ignorance (notice I didn't say stupidity, I said ignorance. many of these people are very intelligent...just in fields without a technical basis). Some basic user education on the technology that is an integral part of their jobs could go a long way.

Yeah, it must be terrorism or in violation of the DMCA...or something.
Unfortunately, most sys admins will be oblivious to the problem and will not patch anything.
