Remember the riots that took place because people running Gingerbread were arbitrarily deemed to be using devices too slow to handle the demands of Ice Cream Sandwich?
I love when they use the "your device is too slow" excuse while hundreds if not thousands of rooted people are running versions of Android 1/2 major versions ahead without any problem. I remember putting 4.1 on my HTC Thunderbolt and having it runs leaps and bounds faster than the bloated 2.3.4 that it was on.
I sometimes wonder if they tweak the Android system to run slower just so people will go out and buy a new phone.
So why not let users update the SW themselves over the internet? Have it make a notice for users to update next time they are on a wifi network, or connected to a computer.
Carriers don't want to not because it'll cost them money, but because it wont sell any more decides so what do they care?
If anything, maybe force the carriers & phone manufacturer to release all the source code for the device they stop updating. Let the community take over if they wish. This is the only reason ROMS for rooted users have bugs. The devs have to guess how various things like the radios work.
From my understanding, you could be on a plane and start sending signals that another plane is heading right for you. This would in return cause all sorts of alarms to go off and maybe cause the pilots to freak out and take extreme measures.
Yeah, my Asterisk boxes use to get slammed with brute force attempts left and right from foreign IP addresses, then I installed Fail2ban. Works wonders.
Yeah, I've been using DSLR Controller to control my Canon T3i via my tablet (USB) for some time. It's pretty clumsy having to deal with a cable but I would rather do that then have my camera support wireless.
* This fee is due to PayPal refusing to tell Mastercard what it is you're buying so they are now charging PayPal more. Their end cost has not increased, they are just greedy and want more money.
So do iPhone get random surprise inspections? Whats to stop someone from jailbreaking it after getting approved to use it at work? Sounds like that company will need it's own cell phone police dept.
I had problems start with my Samsung TV. It would take 10 minutes to turn on. Just sit there clicking on, off, on, off. I called Samsung and it was a known problem. They contacted a local repair shop and had the shop come out to my house and fix it THAT NIGHT. Zero cost to me.
If you're still on Verizon unlimited then this is the case (unless you root). If you're on a 2 or 4 gig then you should raise hell and threaten to contact the FCC.
"multiplayer servers shall remain active for at least 3 years".
3 years goes by really fast. They should be forced to open source the server if they chose to take all their servers offline or patch the games to run without a server.
My thoughts exactly. I sit here still craving to try this SimCity but know I will regret it. I'm literally fighting with myself. I even thought about waiting a few months but then I think about never being able to play in the future when they take the servers offline. Hell I still dig up SimCity 2000 from time to time and play it. I was playing the original SNES version the other night on my tablet. Oh those were the days....
And become Ted Kaczynski v2.0 in the process. Pretty much every electronic device will have some sort of DRM in it soon if it doesn't already.
Every President that gets elected to a second term stop giving a shit. It's the home stretch to pad their pockets and spend paradise on a beach.
I'm going to rush out and buy four of them right away.
As it is now, I won't even sit in those D-Box seats. Just annoying. If I'm forced to smell shit then count me out.

Why would an ISP such as Comcrap want to block the account of a paying client? Most don't care about massive HTTP request.

And even their printers are crap now days.

Holy hell this just made my day.
I think on every transaction PP should list:
PayPal Transaction fee: $x.xx
*Mastercard Fee: $x.xx
* This fee is due to PayPal refusing to tell Mastercard what it is you're buying so they are now charging PayPal more. Their end cost has not increased, they are just greedy and want more money.

When finally rolled out, it wasn't the true android experience, but some half-baked Samsung-proprietary interface aka "Touchwiz."
Welcome to EVERY non Nexus phone buddy. If you don't like it then root it and put CM10.x on the device.
I will admit, Touchwiz is better then HTC Sense.

So you're allowed to use a company supplied Android phone or they just don't allow Android at all?
If you're referring to Android being spyware, sorry but Apple does just as much and the teleco's do more spying then all the spyware combined.
I'll buy any Android app if I use it enough and/or the app is worthy of it. To name a few:
- Minimalistic Text (because it's awesome)
- Root Explorer
- Titanium Backup
- Better Terminal Emulator Pro & AirTerm
And in the end they got $95-$105 from you. Sounds like they still win. I would demand $60 coupon or a full $60 (plus tax) refund for the game.
As of right now, EA has stopped all SimCity server work to push out a patch preventing this is my guess.

Yet SimCity 2000 was the best one IMO.
