a good scenario would be we get a bundle with flash, photoshop and dreamweaver:) for a decent price
a bad scenario would be.... prices go up since there is no competitor anymore?
or is microsoft's longhorn with its vector graphics such a threat to macromedia that they had to find a way up?
i only have one question in mind.... WHY
from a multimedia point of view, we have been trying to make flash animation support 3d but no format was light enough and easy to render, with director mx, we have 3d objects but the format is proprietary for macromedia and u have to transform every element and the rendering is without shadows and lights.
a decent open 3d format is exactly what we (as multimedia developpers) need to take us to the next level to deliver virtual interactive environments.
berlin turned to digital terrestrial about 2 months ago and so will the rest of germany. people here are not very happy, they have to buy a decoder for every tv in the house and as a friend of mine with 3 teenagers (and tv sets) at home said, its damn expensive!
he got cable! and it was cheaper with loads of better content.
is this what we are talking about?

A huge power blackout hit U.S. cities spreading from New York to Cleveland and Detroit and north into Canada Thursday afternoon. In New York City, the blackout affected subways, elevators and airports, including John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports. Thousands of people streamed into the streets of lower Manhattan in 90-degree heat. In Toronto, Ontario, too, workers left their offices after the blackout hit shortly after 4 p.m. EDT. Traffic lights were out throughout downtown Cleveland, creating havoc at the beginning of rush hour. There were reports of outages in New Jersey and Connecticut as well. Every prison in New York state reported a loss of power and had switched to backup generators, said James Flateau, a spokesman for the state Department of Corrections.

so its not like comdex sueing motorola for abusing ericsson. we are part of teh open source community and we feel concerned and an association is the best way to defend our interest.
i am neither german nor do i live in germany, but i have to say the guys are organized and at least someone is doing something about this!
macromedia launched the communication server, ideal for video conf and voice chat and lots of nice stuff, ever encountered someone that uses it?
as for central, FLASH is being used offline, its a fact, i use it to make cds cause its more powerful then director and i can populate it with XML data, its really powerful, for online, i use it instead of java we all know why
by why launch a new product? IMHO flash MX is being used this way for a while now, this is lots of marketing and little innovation.
actually i wasnt on my pc and forgot my password:)
