How the hell is anyone supposed to avoid being a criminal when there are books and books of laws one has to obey?
And you have cut to the crux of the matter. The government has little to no means of controlling a law abiding citizen, but as soon as we all become criminals they can do almost anything to us.
At least you "target" sailors don't have to still deal with NT 4.0! And don't get me started on the HP-UX box I still have to deal with! Mind you, this is after an upgrade.
As for Linux, the new submarine Fire Control, Sonar, and Navigation systems (which are on there own network) are running Linux now. It is a dramatic difference in capability over the old purpose built systems.
However, if they are stationed outside of the US, and that country has a drinking age lower than 21, then they could drink.
This is entirely up to the command that the service member is attached to, or in most cases the senior command in the area. I personally know people who have had Captain's Mast (NJP) for underage drinking overseas.
Happened in Grand Rapids, Michigan in October of 2006. Three gunmen held up a grocery store, led the employees to a back room and bound them with duct tape. The manager, with a gun aimed at his head, managed to work himself free enough to draw his CCW and shoot one of the perpetrators twice, killing him. The other two fled the scene. "In my opinion, if this man had not had a gun, my concern is that they would have executed these people," Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth said.
I'm a 2nd class FT on a submarine, so I work pretty closely with our Sonarmen. Every time we go active in an area with heavy "biologics" they don't leave, no matter how many times or how loudly we ping. So this business of "ramping up" the intensity of the pulse is going to do absolutely nothing, except giveaway your position with nothing gained. Remember, they can hear your SONAR long before you can get a return from it.
...on many mission critical systems. I happen to know the latest and greatest submarine Fire Control and Sonar systems run on Linux. I'd say about 90% of the stuff that runs Windows is non-mission critical. If the sub,s LAN goes down, sure it sucks, but no one is going to die as a direct result...at least not on a 688. If we lose Fire Control or Sonar, we're screwed.
So, the phrase "right of the people," means the state? Or, is that only when followed by: "to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed," but when followed by: "peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances," they mean an individual right? Am I understanding this correctly? I get confused when we change the definition of a phrase within the same document.
In the mean time, how many times a DAY do those same weapons get turned against the general population in the commission of crimes? Dozens? Hundreds? Yeah, something like that.
Care to site you source, or is that just the typical hysteria fomented by Handgun Control Inc. and their friends? I challenge you come up with and cite a statistic to back-up that claim that doesn't come from any "gun safety" or "gun control" group.
So, why have the first part if it's not related to the second?
Because when the Bill of Rights was written "militia" meant any able-bodied adult male. This country wouldn't exist as it does today without citizens with their privately owned firearms fighting the British.
and no brandishing weapons does not scare off attackers. so stop spouting gun nut propaganda.

In the 12/13/04 edition of The News Journal Wilmington , Del: Store owner produced a gun, robber fled-no shots fired.
In the 11/04/04 edition of the Florence, Ala TImes Daily: Store clerk produces a gun and said: "Do you want this or the money?" Robber fled the scene-no shots fired.
In the 07/22/04 edition of the Houston Texas The Sentinel: Man approached an elderly man with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and demanded money, the elderly man pretended to reach for his wallet, instead he drew a gun. Suspect fled the scene-you guessed it, no shots fired.
Granted, not all criminals are going to run away like the bitches they are when confronted with an armed would be victim, but many (the smarter ones) will.
I believe the court already ruled the McCain-Feingold act constitutional in a suit.
You sir, are correct. The SCOTUS did indeed rule that the Incumbant Protection Act's restrictions on paid political advertising are indeed NOT in violation of "Congress shall make no law..."It had to be the only time in history that the ACLU, NRA, and Unions were on the same side. As a result of that ruling, I would be very surprised if bloggers can keep their right to free speech.
Last time this came up it took me ten minutes to google a reliable source (which means: not the NRA).
I trust this "reliable" source was either The Violence Policy Center, Handgun Control INC, Million Mom March or some other such completely non-biased "public interest think tank."
Piont being, that BOTH sides may be less than totally honest and might selectivly ignore statistics that don't agree with their view.
The only time this country has seen ANY decline in gun crime was after the Brady Bill,
Looking at stats on the FBI's website for 1996-2000, Murders went down across the board, not just firearms. So I suppose that the Brady bill with its waiting periods was responsible for the drop in knife, blunt object, and strangulation killings?
Do you know how many people die in the cross fire in this country? More then the original targets of the crime. WHY? Cus of assholes like you.

Also from the FBI, in 2000, there were 137 cases of justifiable homicide by private citizens reported to the FBI. That's likely at least 137 people who owe their lives to the fact that someone had a gun, and knew how to use it. What's never mentioned is how many times merely brandishing a firearm is sufficient to subdue or scare off a would-be attacker. The sound a burglar fears most is the racking of shotgun behind his back. http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm#cius

Eeewww...Do you have any idea how much of a mess impulsing a human body out of a torpedo tube could make? Pieces would likely get fouled in the muzzle and shutter doors. Unless...maybe if wrapped in duct tape...
A dead give away that Azureus.org isn't legit is that EVERY link on their page tries to install their software. What scares me is I'm sure a lot of people aren't experienced/ intelligent enough to catch that.
You should read and think about your sig, unless I missed [sarcasm] in there someplace.

FT = Fire control Technician. FT's are specific to submarines.

Don't forget: taking off without clearance, while there happens to be another fully loaded 747 on the runway. That one killed 600+ people...oops.
