Right. Because the head of NASA was on the assembly line 20 years ago when the parts were installed by some blue collar worker getting paid peanuts who is responsible but will never be held accountable. Makes sense.
Well, I used to think that until I noticed that Fox news has a lot of streaming content on their site. Additionally, I use video web conferencing to talk with my friends who are out of the country, so not everything revolves around porn.
Except when we share massive quantities of porn with each other. Then it definitely is just for porn.
Actually, the Kyoto treaty was rejected by congress. Treaties such as this require congressional approval before they can be considered as entered by the US. Pres. Clinton "signed" the agreement, but CONGRESS VOTED NOT TO EVEN TAKE A VOTE on the ratification of Kyoto. Cabinet members nothing. Congress -- both houses if I recall -- were so opposed to Kyoto that they refused to even remotely consider ratifying. It wasn't even a close vote -- not in any sense of the word.
First of all, he was only looking at the issue from a security stance. Second, social engineering is hardly a "security buzzword" and is indeed the perfect phrase to describe the actions of virus writers. Finally, your sig is improper Latin; it should read Cogito cogite ergo cogito esse.
Could you please forward that email to me... I have a friend from Nigeria that would probably like to become a business partner with this group from the Congo.
Damn straight NU is better thatn UofC. The campus is nicer too -- well, at the least everything except the second sub-basement of tech is nicer than UofC's campus.
Let me tell you -- what some financial aid programs claim you "need" is not nearly enough. Trust me on this.
Signed,
A junior from a family of 6 with an income of around half yours at one of the top twenty schools that shall remain nameless.
I would recommend Northwestern as a good option for you. I think their ECE department is excellent. The CS department however, is so-so. And the co-op program at Northwestern has really served me well.
Full disclosure: I go to Northwestern
Moore's law is of course set with the assumption of silicon being used as the underlying semiconductor technology. With other semiconductor tech and even alternatives to the whole concept of semiconductors emerging, it is bound to fail eventually.
There is an option to turn off nautilus handling of the background. Can't recall it from here, but its there and it makes nautilus MUCH more usable IMO.
It means that companies should distribute patches only. That way they are only distributing their own code. If code belonging to them ends up in the kernel through other means, they still reserve the right to seek rectification because they never distributed the infringing code. That is the easiest solution to this problem.
You make a good point. I was under the assumption that the subject here had previous experience with some more traditional programming languages like C or C++, but simply never had a job requiring their proficiency in his job description.
If indeed it is the case that he has had no such experience, then I would agree with you completely.
In Soviet Russia 500 Euros reward you.
Obviously you are not familiar with the mighty Steven Hawking, PhD.
Right. Because the head of NASA was on the assembly line 20 years ago when the parts were installed by some blue collar worker getting paid peanuts who is responsible but will never be held accountable. Makes sense.
Hmm. C!... would that be like CBA?

Imagine a Beowulf cluster of those there "social skills"

> "I found it in the last place that I looked"
> - why would you keep looking?
Really, thats a colloquialism for "last place I would ever have looked."
> "new and improved"
> - if it's new? how can you improve it?
You can have a "new", undriven, 2002 car. A 2003 model of a car is equally "new" but also probably improved with new features or amenities.
> on a tv ad for bioflex
> "to loose the weight you need to add muscle..."
> - really?
Muscle actually has a much higher density than fat, thus adding muscle very well might increase your weight.
I could keep going, but I have work to do, and can't remember the proper grammatical term for "I wont even mention..." and other such phrases.

Who needs a party when you have an oscilloscope, 555 timer, and a keg between 3 ECEs -- an AWESOME way to prepare for finals...

It may have stopped short of Rhode Island, but apprently it may have actually started in my home town. Check this.

Apache? What the hell are you talking about? This was an FTP breach. Absolutely nothing to do with Apache.
> By development methods, do they mean "use of the vi editor"?
No way. SCO isn't 1337 enough to use vi. They are, however, evil enough to use EMACS.
I switched after I caught a bad case of Chernobyl (the bad one w32.cihb).
