It's software raid because you need a driver. A lot of the operations that would normally be performed on the controller in a real RAID controller are passed off to the CPU.
Is this a troll? You're bitching because your el cheapo HighPoint RAID controller (software RAID, I might add) isn't up to running a production mail server?
Woah there, you're mixing up autism (a mental disorder originating characterized by self-absorption, inability to interact socially, repetitive behavior, and language dysfunction) with synaesthesia (a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color). While it is possible that Einstein was slightly autistic, savants are not usually as charismatic and witty as he seems to have been; the savant pays a huge price from other cognitive areas for their heightened ability in one area.
Or Nike? Or Coca-Cola? I use Linux, but I think the idea of wearing a Tux the Penguin t-shirt is kind of lame. Same for people who pay extra for clothes with the Nike logo on it. ..what you share to the core of your being is identification with a logo that is larger than you could ever hope to be, not some enlightened life philosophy.
Don't worry about Mr. Tweak, he's some teenage kid in Australia. Anyone who used to read the [H]ardOCP (I stopped several years ago) will remember him as the kid that threatened to sue Kyle for not linking to his crappy website. Of course, he didn't just threaten Kyle directly--he sent his complaints to a whole bunch of hardware site webmasters. He's just another one of those dime-a-dozen specials.
You and another poster make very good points, but limited semantic analysis still does not take us much closer to making a machine understand speech. If it were indeed the key to our language ability, we would have competent AI right now, as semantic rules are well understood and can be (and have been) applied to speech recognition.
What does speech recognition have to do with the Turing test? I will consider speech recognition to be a solved problem when computers can take dictation with the same error rate as a native speaker. They don't have to be able to understand what is said--that's a different problem altogether.
I assume all of those who use the currently schedule 1 substance in the US known as tetrahydrocannabinol
Actually, it's referred to as weed, pot, grass, green, or ganj' . Try going around asking people where you can score some tetrahydrocannabinol, and see what happens. . .
Dumbass, they are contrasting Google's situation with the fact that, if you want to find out something about a closed-source software package, you can't usually call up the company and talk to the guy who wrote it.
Not all cartoons are supposed to be funny. Tintin has plenty of humor, but its woven into a larger narrative. He's the world-famous Tintin, reporter. He has wild adventures that take him around the world (and to the moon), solving crimes and foiling plots. For someone who wants to sound like they understand Tintin, you sure missed the boat.
We can't "eat" dirt and air to grow and reproduce, but plants and certain types of bacteria sure can! By the way, plants constitute most of the biomass on this planet (they are, after all, the primary producers), and bacteria far, far, far, outnumber us all.
Sometimes, when someone is under investigation, law enforcement will arrest them for something minor like a traffic violation, tax evasion, or, in this case, "theft of service". Just because the news media doesn't have all the facts doesn't mean it's as simple as it looks.
Proliferation to the point of ubiquity of cheap, reliable (read: self-replicating & autonomous) nanotech will have a dramatic effect on life on Earth the likes of which we haven't seen since early protists began excreting oxygen. It is impossible to fully realize the ramifications such a change would have, and it is certainly foolish to try to brand it as good or bad.
Indeed, FreeBSD is fast--similarly configured Linux and OpenBSD installations take two to three times longer to boot. Of course, since FreeBSD is so stable, chances are you won't need to boot it very often.
No, let's replace all public phone booths with transporter booths, that way we can go anywhere in the world for a few dollars! And then we can power our homes with fusion reactors and have picnics on the moon with Jesus!
1. If you would like a local copy of these web pages, download the djbdns documentation package and unpack it under under/doc:
gunzip < doc.tar.gz | (cd/; tar -xf -)
Then run slashdoc-merge to create indices such as/doc/commands.html. 2. Download the djbdns package. The latest published djbdns package is djbdns-1.05.tar.gz.
3. Unpack the djbdns package:
gunzip djbdns-1.05.tar tar -xf djbdns-1.05.tar cd djbdns-1.05
4. Compile the djbdns programs:
make
5. As root, install the djbdns programs under/usr/local:
make setup check
6. Report success:
( echo 'First M. Last'; cat `cat SYSDEPS` ) \ | mail djb-sysdeps@cr.yp.to
If you live near a smaller liberal arts college that operates a student radio station, give that a try. Chances are good that you'll be exposed to a lot of music you wouldn't have heard otherwise.

You rape record label!

What makes you qualified to write a book on website accessibility?

Maybe I'm retarded, but the articles do not mention when they think the trojan was introduced. Does anyone know?
- djbdns: no reported vulnerabilities
Hurrah to people who know how to write software properly. If you live near a smaller liberal arts college that operates a student radio station, give that a try. Chances are good that you'll be exposed to a lot of music you wouldn't have heard otherwise.
What kind of mainboard for a 486 would support an 80GB disk?
