Even if this news may lead to more piracy, its still very cool geeky news imho. Hacking a cool device like a psp to do what it was never meant to do. Can you run linux on it? I think that still follows the SD spirit.
This is very true. A few months ago I started seeing a lot of used psps being sold on sites like craigslist.com. The ones I contacted about why they were selling their psps basically said that games/movies were pretty expensive.
I dunno, imho web browsers on the psp suck. Definetly not a reason to get a psp. PSP web browsers (im referring to the 2.0 and tenchi no mon browsers) are slow, and run out of memory often when downloading large web pages.:P These browsers are serviceable at best.
I smell pirating goodness for all.:) I think its amazing how fast this downgrader came out after the buffer overflow was discovered in the photo section. Simply Amazing.
I wondered about this as well. I'm sure the prosecutor will point out that there was no way that you could reasonably expect a laptop that worth 1100 to be only 300.
Well sure, I don't exactly like them knowing exactly. But when they cancel shows that I like, like Family Guy (the first time) and Enterprise (when it was starting to get good) and various other shows due to "low ratings" I want to know for sure if this is the case or just a lame stastical model that Nielson came up with.
This could change television completely as we know it. I've long suspected that our current neilson rating were never really accurate. If you literally KNEW what people were watching it would get rid of a lot of crappy shows and save a lot of good ones.
I understand the policy of fansubbing until its licensed here in the US. But what happens if the show has like 100+ episodes with new shows coming every week. When an anime is finally licensed here in the US we then usually have to wait for the publisher to dub it (usually badly) and slowly roll out the show starting with episode 1. Same thing happened with Rouroni Kenshin. There are over 95+ episodes and took them quite a while to get all the way to 90. I don't even know if they have 91-95 out. Naruto is an excellent show and I can see why anime groups would just say fuck it and continue releasing.
I agree with this to a certain extent. Provide stuff like episodes we don't get here in the states, or show conferences, or shows that we missed, or cable programming for those who don't have cable and I think there is a viable market. I remember wanting to see Battlestar Galactica so bad I scoured the internet for torrents.
When I played SWG, I got it just for jump to lightspeed. I wanted to be a pilot. But in the end I was disappointed by the gameplay I was hoping it would be similar to the x-wing/tie fighter games. The xp system was boring too, grinding away blowing up pirates. After blowing up 25 identical pirate ships in a row the game got old really fast. Content or different missions to keep it interesting was definetly needed. I can't believe I have to pay monthly on top of what the game and expansion cost just for the privelege to play.:(
The star wars universe is a great place to write spin off stories about. I've always enjoyed Clone Wars (the cartoon), and numerous books from Timothy Zahn and such. The comic books are very good too.
You know, it doesn't really matter if episodes I and II are any good. It just interesting to see and fills out the story for third parties to write spin offs about.

I believe they do, if they want to sell music the mainstream consumer will want.
True, but they don't have to renew the current contract right? This is about setting terms for a new contract.
If they don't have RIAA music, what "plenty of music" are they going to find?
I mean does the RIAA really HAVE to allow apple to sell music? What's to really stop them from dictating terms.

Did one of IBM's crazy security recovery chips really work?
I completely agree. Although I liked power pack, I can't imagine a decent movie being made around it. Maybe a spykids like deal.
I agree the stylus is cool, but I think something could be done with the analog stick and maybe a floating hand or something.
I don't see why they couldn't make a SonyDoggy game.
They have a web browser for 1.50. Its ripped from Tenchi No Mon and works pretty good.
I have comcast and I never have downtime at all.

Nah, its all about teh red-head Asuka!!!11Shift1
When I saw picked up, I also though it meant there would be new episodes. But I guess 3 un aired episodes and reruns will do for now.
