    Actually its become quite common in Europe now for companies to try an screw you with recurring contract renewal unless you explicitly opt out by informing them with written notification, carved in stone, in quadruplicate, aprox 72 months before the contract was due for renewal. Of course they dont like to tell you this up front, preferring you to find out after they have charged you rather that clutter up their nice contract with clear t&c.

    But this is the attraction of wireless, it requires far less infrastructure than previous networking technology so its cheaper and easier to implement and will be easier to replace.

    See this is the beauty of it. As the China and Indian get wealthier they wont give a fucking shit about the US and UK getting poorer, just like we didnt give a shit about them living in poverty and squalor while we enjoyed our spin on the affluence merry go round. As the adage goes, 'he who pays the piper calls the tune', the Chinese and Indians will be paying and the tune will be 'China and India say everyone wins'.

    Personally I am just waiting for the US to announce that some such alliance poses a threat to their security and takes military action to protect their economy

    A classic example of that they are are talking about. Do you not think such a narrow perspective puts people off, or are war, disease, disaster and famine all ok because the world is perfect so long as software is free.

    9 years is fucking ridiculous, and why only for spammers. What about all that unrequested direct marketing I have received over the years, why not jail a few CEO's and marketing people for that? And TV advertisers, how dare they intrude in my living room every day. Jail a few of them as well, and dont get me started on billboard advertisers, how dare they interfere with my line of sight, they should be beaten and then jailed.. and then beaten again.
