Martin: Look! It's snowing!
Ralph: [catching a flake of grease on his tounge] This snowflake tastes like fish sticks!

remember when everyone bought the 3com Audrey for $100? That could make a really cool front-end for this bar (w/ a touch screen, nonetheless!) if someone was embeded-QNX-savvy enough to get this sucker to control drink-measuring hardware:)

Remember the Apple IIgs, which had Steve Wozniak's "WOZ" signature on the box?
...and what classic song will he rip off to make that rap? The MIB theme came from some silly disco song called 'Forget Me Nots' and the Wild Wild West song was ripped from a Stevie Wonder tune.
I can't think of Radio Shack without the obligatory Simpsons quote:
Homer: We'll search out every place a sick, twisted, solitary misfit might run to!
Lisa: I'll start with Radio Shack. (www.snpp.com)
the Formac Studio/TV does this but it has firewire and with much better quality. Yes, it's 2x the price of El Gato's recorder, but the quality will probably make it worth it.
Yes, this advertising campaign is a very cheap, very troll way to get lots of people to notice you. But does anybody see similarities to this service and Apple's '.mac' that people get so worked up about?
check it out (yay, give MS more attention!): MSN 8 - Software Only
Their cheapest MSN 8 service costs almost as much as a new.mac account, a little cheaper if you pay for a whole year, but what does it offer? Hotmail with virus protection? Does MS actually have a better SPAM filter than Hotmail's (which does about nothing). And do you get ad-free e-mail?
I have seen hints of new MIDI capabilities being built-in to 10.2, such as a MIDI options control panel. This will be a major jump forward from OS 9's 'support' of MIDI (Open OMS? bleccch!). Has anyone had the chance to look into 10.2's MIDI capabilities? Plug in any MIDI devices and see if it does anything?
You must boot into Classic to run any of these apps. Cubase announced a 'beginning of Q4 2002' release for cubase sx, which looks like it's going to be really cool; MOTU says a new version of digital performer is on its way with a similar timeframe. Who knows what Apple has in store w/ Logic... AFAIK there's no word from the digidesign folks.
anyone recognize the pix on the screen?

I had a Mac Performa 600 w/ a CD-ROM drive-- that was a big step up from my apple iigs 10 years ago-- and it came with a sample Photo CD. The Performa took maybe 2 minutes to open up the 320x240 sized shots... thanks to its blazing 16Mhz 68030... but all of those pictures on that palm pilot's screen are from that sample photo cd from 10+ years ago. Just thought you'd like to know that.

Homer: Hey, wait a minute! There's no such thing as a talking dog!
