>>>>>I guess everyone will have to have registered oyster cards* to travel on public transport in London soon, so they can track all of our movements.
Like a suicide bomber will care....
>>>Well, see, you're going to sound like much less of a kook if you don't just make stuff up. You can go right here and read their 'manifesto' all you want.
Yes, but it does actually say in the manifesto that to be the dominant world force the US needs to bulk up their 'defence' capabilities and to justify that something like a new Pearl Harbour. Also it makes th e case for maintaining a strong presence in the Middle East, irrespective of whether Saddam Hussein/Iraq needs to be policed as it's a strategically important region.
That's right. They gave Osama bin Laden training, guns, bullets and bombs to fight a war of attrition against the nasty Soviets. Then the Soviets became friends with America, and by turns Osama became their enemy.
And they sold Mr Hussein as many chemicals as he liked to kill his own people and those in Iran. That really pissed of the Iranians.
And then the Americans learnt what the phrase 'What goes around, comes around' meant.
>>I'm still wondering whether it's some IRA faction, personally. These don't seem to have been really big bombs - we're seeing lots of wounded, not many dead.
Umm, that's because the dead are having a real tough time trying to walk along the rail lines and up to street level.
Hippy Peaceful Protest???....you utter fuckwit.
So little casualties so far because they're still trying to rescue people/get bodies of those stuck underground.
Having seen the picture of the bus that has been ripped apart and eyewitness reports of bodies being blown out of it onto the street, I'd guess say that there are some pretty pissed off hippies about.
The only thing that's not right here is your brain.
Dont try and give me the "in GB we are better and certianly more civilized" bullshit. Please let me remind you as to WHY the I.R.A. still blows up civillian targets in GB...
OK, for a start the IRA are an Irish group. Ireland is not part of GB. I won't start stereotyping about American's knowledge of geography though... Secondly the IRA have (officially at least) had a ceasefire for, oh just the ten years now. They're not still blowing up civilian targets.
Yes there are gun clubs in this country. And a great tradition of shooting - mostly still goes on in Scotland for the benefit of tourists. But there are also strict laws as to where you can keep the guns and ammunition (eg locked cases etc)
My main comment was against the US media - in the main as watched by the people in the US. It is one that is absolutely obsessed with aggression and violence. Even your message had an underlying aggression. It's worrying, it really is.
Bullshit. In Britain we have incredibly few gun related crimes. It's big news, really big news if someone is killed by the bullet in this country. It's not an everyday occurance and has hardly risen dramatically.
The problem is yours. The US glamourises violence and gun use. Every other film coming out of the states features guy shooting each other. Your head of state poses aboard warships. You're OBSESSED with guns, with violence, with killing.
I think it was Shaw who said the US is the only country to have gone from Barbarism to Decadence without experiencing Civilisation.

Blunkett is a long way out from the vast majority of the Labour party.
It's not the desktop monopoly that we have a problem with stoopid...it's the use of that monopoly to gain an unfair advantage in other markets.
Sheesh.
On that (Alpe D'Huez) stage Armstrongs bike was 2grams less than the permitted UCI minimum weight of 6kg. Not a large amount, but they actually had to add weight to his bike.
Released in the Europe as Belleville Rendezvous...best film I've seen in years.
Man invented God, not the other way round. That's intelligent design.
Yup. I can't think of a single hosting company that still offers PHP.
Like the ex-bleach I think.
I think it's been rebranded as cif now, although whether that's 'sif' or 'kif' I don't know...
I'll get me coat.
...you've just argued my point nicely.

One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.

Hint: The WTC atrocities happened about 20 years after the beginning of this sorry state of events...
To put it language you might understand...it was 'A New Hope', not 'The Phantom Menace'

40 dead, 1000 injured 150 serious....so far. Fucking hippies, eh?
Some "hippy protest" then, you fucking ignoramus.
We had a million people on the streets of London protesting against the war. They just don't listen to us.
Maybe you should shut the fuck up and 'let the story develop more' before pronouncing that this was a peaceful hippy attack you ignorant fucker.

Just like Concorde and the Soviet TU144 aka Concordski!
Ummmm...and how did that help in the 70's and 80's?

That'll be BBC Radio 2. R1 has been shedding listeners for the past ten years.
