Ok as far as email goes there are a bucket-load of worms that can infect unpatched version of OE and Windows XP. There are two worms (AFAIK) for Linux.
That doesn't address the problem of 0 day exploits. Further I know people who have done a fresh install of Windoze XP and connected to the internet to get all the patches available from WindowsUpdate only to be infected within 5 seconds of connecting.
when firefox is already the best browser on the planet, what can Netscape really improve about it. Perhaps their crappy aqua theme is about it and a bunch of add in programs that will screw with your computer.
Actually under Stalinism, the state owned everything and the people had minimal say in anything at all (not quite the idea that Marx or Lenin had in mind), so it was like communism but with none of the good stuff that you would think would go with communism (worker control of workplaces). Kinda equivelent to being able to see the code, but not being able to do anything with it. So perhaps Linus is Lennin/Marx, Gates is Hitler and that Sun guy (is it McNeally?) would be Stalin.
How about adapting it so that on Windows you can set an option that makes it use the IE web cache (C:\Documents and Settings\...). That way, users who use both IE and Moz wont have two seperate web caches (So instead of having two web caches set up for 50MB, you could have one set up for 100MB). As far as for all platforms, I think it's in pretty good shape as far as features go (previous comment asside) and I personally would like to see them refine it as much as possible. E.G. Remove as much bloat as possible, improve performance, do some intensive security auditing on it and try and remove possible exploits before they are discovered (not saying they haven't already), Improve standards compliance if needed, etc. All in all I'm a great fan of Mozilla/Firebird and think that they are close to perfection as it is.
TCP/IP networking was an add on to Unix originally. That didn't mean that Unix didn't do it better than anything else at the time. Not saying M$ will, however I don't think you can rule them out just because in the past "All network and security add-ons have shown to be just that".
well in that case doesn't the DMCA allow you to take the f*&$er down by whatever mean necessary (including, but not limited to exploiting the machine and running 'rm -fr/' on it)?
I think it's great that I can get GPL'd software and other OSS on Windows. It can introduce users to software often found on Linux (or any other Open Source OS), potentially lessoning an fear of Open Source OS's (cause they already know some of the software on it). Also it means that in mixed environments you can also have some level of conformity as far as applications go (Firefox, Thunderbird being great examples). These things surely do not hurt OSS.
You're drawIng conclusions baseD on the collapse of the USSR and the assumptIOn That it was communist? Now the USSR might of said that it was Communist and the US might of said they were communist, however that does not mean that they were necessarily communist. Indeed there are many who argue that they were not communist, certainly not from the point forward that the centrist bureaucrats gained control of the bolshevic party and slowly abolished the democratic process within the party.
In addition to the other reply to this, there might also be the case of journals which are published by proffesional organisations being used to defray the cost of running such organisation. You'll also find individual subscription prices being much cheaper than institutional subscription prices, I'd posit a guess that the institutional subscription holders are in some part subsidising the individual subscription holders.
The ombudsman of who deals with that area is a good place to start. Writting letters to your local member of parliament. Organising others to write letters to their local member of parliament. Writting letters to newspapers in your country. I'm sure others can think of more.:)

Prior in the same thread, in general. A sentiment may of course be twisted to suit the topic, making it unique. Stuff like 'Necraft confirms BSD is dead', is redundant because of the sheer repitiviness without any modification whatsoever.
Useless and adding nothing to the discussion sure. However it is impossible that it was redundant unless the sentiment had already been expressed prior.

Sounds like your problem is the people, not the drugs. Nutzoid wowserism doesn't solve these sorts or problems, it only excerbates them by pushing the users into a non-law abiding sub-culture.

Considering that Outlook is bundled with Office Pro and until OpenOffice usage picks up people will just use the tools they already have.

Isn't their software already out there that would do this sort of stuff but on mobile phones come PDAs that are running of Linux.
Why is there still discussion of this? All prophecies of their rise have been ill-founded and look likely to continue to be ill-founded.
Why not do it in something more low level so that you're not wasting the CPU cycles that you're trying to make use of.

Have a look again, it looks as though the guys upstream finally took him down.

all we need now is some sort of interface with our feet.
Debian incorporating newly released software into stable in less than two years, who would of though.

Yeah it was covered by Neowin as well. They link to a screenshot that details the fake story.
