Instead of individual users pulling the scedules, have a more entral database handle that so it's format can stay the same, and only one thing would need to change when things break
Definatly not by clicking on an 'e'. I think he was maaking the poit that most people don't know what a broswer is, or even remotly know how the internet works.
Pop-ups cause my computer to do something I didn't want it to do. Under the USA-PARIOT Act, this makes it a virus, and there are now stiff penalties for this.
We've had the same thing happen at UAH. They've blocked all the ports used by file sharing. If you're interested, it's the University of Alabama Huntsville. I would encourage anyone to call them and compain even if you don't go the UAH.
With my iMac, about all I can doo is add more RAM, and maybe a bigger hard drive. I could do more probably, but it'd be more trouble than it's worth since they aren't that upgradable. If you have a PowerMac, I think they're about as upgradable as most PCs.
If MS really had a monopoly, why aren't they charging $1000 a copy then?
They didn't always have a monopoly. Once they started to solidify their monopoly they couldn't just increase the price by 100 percent, or people would then have a greater incentive to look for some thing else. Only now with most of their old competition dead have they really been starting price hikes. If Linux wasn't around, you could probably count on spending $500 for the next version of Windows, but with Linux around it will probably be abouthe same price as XP. However, if Linux starts to get just enough market share to get the "name brand" software makers to look at it, then we might even see a drop in the price of the next Windows.
I like this better.

To bad I used up my mod points earlier today since there sure are a lot of these redundant congratulations post :)
We've now cleared the last hurdle t odestroy Microsoft's dominance. Okay maybe not, but It's been a slow day and I'm bored.

The promlem with things like Xpostfacto and similar utilities is that they usually run on Mac OS classic to ge your computer OS X ready.
You forgot AmigaOS!
You forgot BeOS!
I made my own OS, and it's not there!
You forgot OS/2!
You forgot (insert obscure OS here)!
Of course there would be variants of all of these.
I tried it too, but I didn't get a kernel panic, it just moved the directory.
Oh, and how do you "logon to the internet"?
Definatly not by clicking on an 'e'. I think he was maaking the poit that most people don't know what a broswer is, or even remotly know how the internet works.
You're probably better off waiting for Linux NT, it's supposed to have better networking support.
3.1 will be a bit more usable, but I'll wait for Linux 95, it's suppoed to look just like a Mac interface.

You can call the network admin, John Stanton at 1-256-824-2616.

So these ads actually do work. Although, I don't think this is how Apple intended for them to work.
Like, what do you say?
I'm aware the port is started, but almost booting into single user mode doesn't do much good.
I've really thought about NetBSD, but the 77mb ISO seemed to indicate that it was may just enough to boot it to install from FTP, which I don't like.
I meant hurry up with the the PowerPC port, I know there is one in progress.
Isn't BSD supposed to be dead?
:)
Just kidding.
I actually like the BSDs. I use FreeBSD's cousin, Mac OS X every day. I just wish they would port FreeBSD to PowerPC.
Since they've finally killed off Captain Kirk, how do feel about not really being able to be part of any new Star Trek movies?
Do you like the Star Wars movies?

Free as in beer?
I keep reading how things are free as in beer, but when I go to a bar, they tell me that beer isn't free.
I could back up my hard drive a couple of times with this.
