It's obvious Bill Wyman is going to win this case.
No, I think Bill Wyman is going to find some sort of loop hole to win. Bill Wyman probably does't have the same caliber of lawyers as Bill Wyman, so it may be difficult for Bill Wyman to beat Bill Wyman. But I guess Bill Wyman should win. Maybe Bill Wyman will call off the whole thing and leave Bill Wyman alone.
If Microsoft actually goes along with this, will it mean that I'll be able to buy a CD-ROM of the Windows source code for $0.99 or whatever on the streets of China?
Of course not!
That's too much code to fit on a CD, you'll have to buy a DVD on the streets of China.
With Apple's skill at note books, and the embeded nature of the PowerPC, a Macintosh tablet makes perfect sense. Apple could probaby live off notebooks, tablets, and light weight PCs(iMac), they don't even need to worry about making the top of the line powerful computers and servers.
The contiued success of OpenGL is vital for the survival of Linux on the desktop. Without it, making games for Linux is impractical. I don't think WineX can be counted on to keep up.
I have to agree. I don't think Mr. Lucas was meant to be a writer of love stories. Although a little better, the "romance" scenes between Han and Leia were a bit akward also.
(please don't use my sig to guage how much I know about romance)
Linus isn't the head of some huge corporation that makes a ton of money off Linux developement. When you get down to it, he still basically develop Linux as a hobby even though his hobby is becoming quite a force in the industry. He's doing a service more or less for free(sure the fame could get him a job with a nice paycheck in several places), so he gets to do what he wants. It's the same situation with the guy who made AtheOS. People had grand visions for AtheOS and submited suggestions, and they were confused when they were ignored. The guy was only working on his hobby, not trying to make their dream system. Finally a group of developers got the hint and started Syllable. While Linus is a bit more accepting of features and code, it's the same principle. If you have some Earth shattering changes for the Linux kernel, but are getting snubbed by Linus, make your own tree.
I wish they would replace the current network in the dorms at UAH with something like this, that way if you are using your laptop in the UC you can stay connected. Also, anything would better than the current network; I've even thought of paying the extra money to get the increased speed and reliability of dialup.
Yeah, its great spending a weekend outside in the cold re-enacting flame wars. This year we're doing the battle of Bitkeeper from the Linux kernel list.

I think they are releasing the source to their new operating system. Its just to bad that it won't be avalible for another year.
I guess the obvious answer would be to use something other that Windows. I hear this Finnish kid is working on something.
Why do Linux applications need to use hidden Windows APIs?
Why do you want to turn you video into an MP3.This will only make it harder to watch.

If these came into wide use, the US govenment would probably impose harsh export restrictions, since there is a small amout of radiation.
Unless they impose a national sales tax or VAT, I don't see how this will work with all the different sales tax "districts."

I have to wait until they leak a version for the Mac.
Isn't this Mickey's cousin?
I called the the local cable company and they just kept tell me, "You don't have cable, quite calling us."

Some people down here in Alabama will tell you that the civil war isn't over, just in a cease fire.

I'd kind of like to see Slashdot The Movie
I remember when I owned the most powerful computer in Mongolia, but I eventually had to get rid of my Apple II.
I don't think it was Apple who put it in. I wish they would, that way I could easily encode in OGG.
I didn't know other OEMs besides Sun used the SPARC processors. Are there any other OEM besides Tadpole and Sun that make SPARC based machines?
You forgot the most important one, it would just be cool to have a 64-bit notebok.
UnitedLinux.com has no information about this release however?
The developers should be getting a memo about hte release tommorow or Friday.
Not only are they cheaper than the Sony robots, if you can get them to use guns, they are a lot cheaper than mercenaries.
