It's a real shame Google have removed this interesting stat as it is as good as any browser/os statistic available due to the huge an ecletic user base of Google.
I guess things are changing at Google and their free , open and considerate attitude is set to change with the IPO.
The search results I've been getting from Google have been decreasing in usefulness at an alarming rate over the last year - it's sad to see Google go this way.
PostgreSQL has for a long time been an excellent choice of database with full transaction support, sequences, trigers, unicode and much much more. I personally prefer working with it to expensive alternatives such as Oracle and DB2.
The PGAdmin3 tool also allows for those scared/lazy for the command line to use interogate it's schemas.
What I'm not too sure about is where any company is providing support on a level one would get from Oracle or IBM. Oracle's support is actually extremely good (in my experience). Anyone point to any companies ready to provide PostgreSQL support?
I can't get Gaim to work through our company proxy servers where as Yahoo and MSN native clients do so fine. I have tried all the proxy settings available. Our proxy server is an MS ISA server... *shudder*.
Yes, it is entirely possible to slashdot a torrent. Each client polls a central server (or in more modern clients one of a number of servers) for new hosts and to update the server on its progress. If this server can't service all the polls from all the clients then a torrent has been./ed.
I bought this game sometime ago when I still have a Windows machine at home. However I haven't played it since ridding myself of the windows machine. Is it possible to get it working on Linux? Any good howtos?
and tell me, WHAT GOOD WOULD A FIREWALL DO AGAINST AN _INTENTIONALLY_ INSTALLED BACKDOOR PROGRAM? nothing nada zip zero.. if you _wanted_ to run it which you must(in case of this program) you would want to turn off the fw too, no?
OK from the post not even the article...
Once opened, it opens a TCP port, allowing the remote-controller to connect and establish control over it.
So adding a firewall will stop commands from evil doers (tm) from executing on your PDA. The point of this trojan is you trick people into installing it. Send a mail saying "hey install this cool new game!".
I don't like the tone of this. If Linux has done something wrong and used someones prior art then come and proof it - else STFU.
I sure there quite possibly is someones prior art in Linux but this has to be played out in courts sooner or later. I'd rather get it over a done with now - it will quite possibly show the stupidity of software patents to all.
Sony still make kit that requires special sony only connections/plugs/adaptors. They still have their one memory cards format and sony only works well with other sony products. They still use plenty of DRM - I still don't like sony...
Yes, I'm very interested in stories like this Lockheed Martin is part of the US estabishment - if they are using Linux it's interesting. It small steps forward to becoming the defacto OS.
It's also interesting to see what Linux is replacing.
Personally I sick of hearing about what Microsoft are doing in 7 year time with Longhorn.
Segways cost about $5,000 USD at that price a small car or motor bike is a much better bet for urban transport. I definitely agree that the price point for mass adoption hasn't been meet.
It is a base64 encoding. Running it though decode-base64 and piping it to the file utility just says it's data. Running strings on the decoded output doesn't yield anything interesting either.
$ decode-base64 google.txt | file -
Don't really have to imagine anything Sunrays already do this - just they aren't widely deployed. Is it just my or is it getting boring having people think things don't exist just because Microsoft isn't doing it.
Get one of these....
;)

Last time I read up on this PNG is not suitable for photo realistic images. This is what JPEG does well - does anyone know of a good alternative?

I don't use aim, nobody I know uses aim.

Check out The Linux Mirror Project for example. Which has torrents for Slackware, Slax, Fedora, Mandrake, Knoppix, Debian, Gentoo & FreeBSD
Stupid me I have ut2k3 - will certainly buy ut2k4 ASAP - does it work just as well on Linux?

Clippy: It looks like you are flying a plane, would you like some help?

a buffer overflow which could potentially cause a PNG image file to execute arbitrary code
This is not a bug it's a feature; the libpng team are obviously trying to get a piece of the ActiveX control market...
It just goes to show that business is more powerful than Government - but hey we all knew that anyway.
I would be interested to know what kind of transfer speed they got at that distance.
This has nothing to do with terrorists and won't do anything to help but if you want to sign away your rights on that premise go for it.
The Army's future soldier will resemble something out of a science fiction movie.
And here is my thinking they would look like something out of a period drama.

I'm going to get this and become I-Spy Champion of the world! Mu ha ha ha ha (etc).
I just want MP3s and an MP3 player - I don't want DRM and I won't by anything with DRM in it. Both Real and Apple can sod off for all I care.

If you have a middle button (sometimes combined with the wheel) try clicking a link with that - it opens in a new tab!
