Point one: I for one miss side scrollers, not because of anything side scrollers can provide exclusively, but I beleive that game designers truly mastered the 2D Sidescrolling genre, but I beleive that as far as 3D games go, we have a lot of catching up to do.
Point 2: What are these games with incredibly realistic physics you're referring to? I think the recent Enter the Matrix is prime evidence against that statement. I mean they had two physics models to choose from, and they still couldn't cut it!
Besides, who here can really say they prefer Megaman Battlenetwork over classic 2D Sidescrolling action? I for one welcome back this genre.
Who says violence can't improve game sales? I'm quite sure that a friendly salesperson at the checkout with a stack of game titles and their choice of chain saw or flame thrower would do WONDERS for their sales (provided checkout lanes were far enough from the exits anyhow.

Have you ever actually seen two mules? I wasn't aware there were any that weren't completely identical. Well, if you can't beat'em, join'em...
Why change FF7? FF7 was perfect the way it was. It was a very creative approach to a relatively slow console for 3d rendering (the drawbacks of speed bonusses most psx 3d rendering engines take are glitchy zorders and texture mapping problems.) by only texturing large polygons (usually part of the scenery,) to me, gave the game a very unique feel. To change that feel by texturing them or improving other graphical aspects of the game would be a crime to me.
(You may also take notice that FF7 for Windows did not have any such graphical improvements even though they would have been extremely simple to add.)
...owns Nullsoft, (as already mentioned by leviramsy) but an interesting theory had been presented to me, suggesting that AOL Time Warner has for some time been planning to trump Apple's iTunes store. Maybe they are planning to power such a service with peer networking?
I have never beleived this personally because AOL Time Warner would just as soon want to have everyone surfing from the same servers anyhow, and a decentralized system would only tax their bandwidth more.
Maybe...maybe they will release such a service that utilizes both p2p transfers in combination with traditional server-to-client transfers, and maybe use it as an advertising platform for AOL, giving AOL users better functionality, or maybe even restricting server-to-client transfers to AOL users once the service becomes popular.
Does anyone else think this idea is bogus? I find it hard to beleive, but I can't figure out how else Nullsoft could be/allowed/ to create this new service.
Elaborating on burgburgburg's question, what is the distinction between a company who has chosen to enjoy a new, more controlled, more constricted environment, and those who desire a more natural, free one?
Is there a tell-tale characteristic consistently associated with a company's policy on this sort of thing?
Cricket Talk - around $40/mo for all 4 features + 500 min./mo of outbound LD. Also, SMS is now $5/mo.

Probably not entirely employee's faults...

In my experience, it's cheaper for an employer to higher an moron, and tell him EXACTLY what to do in clear black and white words (like no cd-r music) than to hire someone with a little more potential and tell them to use their best judgement.
Employees have minimum quotas, and employers want minimum liability. You can see where I'm going with this so there's no need to continue...
An object's mass X creates equal effects on its gravity as it does on its momentum. A small object moving a speed S, has less momentum than a large object moving at speed S. Thus an object traveling at any speed away from another object has an advantage X at keeping distance from the other object, the disadvantage X is also applied to the force of gravity between both objects.
When is the last time you voted for a politician because of his views on stem cell research? Before I'm shot down by a simple "Yes I have," I just want you to ask your average american voter that question.
ATT Cable internet hasn't been available in my area of Pittsburgh yet, and last year they claimed to make it available by January this year. January came, they said February. February came, they said March. March came, they said never. May rolls around and I see ATT trucks putting up new fiber everywhere and can't wait to find out if it's for cable internet. $35/month was a really good value (even if you need a $200 modem), I'm not so sure I want to pay $42/month. Buying a $200 modem doesn't seem cost efficient if I'm going to be paying $42 as opposed to $45 to lease the damned thing.
Ok, two points to make.
