    I am sure they would build this baby in space.....it will be much easier to transport the parts to the ISS and assemble it then get on their way with minimal mass....tehn all tehy need to do is send the landing craft ahead of them, couple with it in mars orbit and then land the sucker....I can however see a red planet(the val Kilmer movie, not the gary senise one) type senario happening...how nasty would that be

    I would assume that the FCC cannot sell off the same part of a spectrum to two diffrent parties with wholey seperate ideas for that spectrum.

    now with digital signals, you can fit more stations on the local spectrum since digital will not "bleed" like analog does. better sound, and in 10 years or so, more choice...I can definatly see the end of satelite radio if local stations can keep up on the content.

    true, but grandfathering might be questionable. so if they do decide the extention was legal, they might decide that grandfathering is not.

    I believe it was the very thing that bush was lambasted for...taking the money that is put into fuel economy and throwing it all into the money spent on fuel cells becasue he thinks the net bennefit for our dependence on oil well be a positive one making fuel cells come sooner than later.

    if they can make them backward compatable with installed laptops, then I would have one in my laptop so when I am far from electricity, I can pop in the fuel cell battery and have 10 hours of power.

    so Clinton was a good ol boy too eh?

    he was and IS one of the loudest voices for increasing the amount of Ethenol in Gasoline. infact, he was pushing more and more money in the direction of cracking the ethenol molecule in order to make it cheap enought to use as a 100% mixture in fuel.

    I hope that some one comes up with a smalll enough package that it can be designed to fit into the variouse packaging design that diffrent Laptop makers have for there batteries. I would certainly purchase a fuel cell for my laptop.

    but they have never come down on folks who have made copies of a video at home.

    getting a first release and getting a post release video are diffrent to the movie companies. especialy since the guy in the theater is more likly to use it for profit.

    how do you plan on making a digital copy of somthing that can only be captured in analog?

    if the output device is doing the decrypting, then the computer can not manipulate the unencrypted data.

    I was talking about DIGITAL copies, not analog copies, and especialy not poor copies of which a camcorder or mic would offer.

    the media companies will be satified when digital copies are imposable.

    dumbass...if the monitor is doing the decrypting, not the computer then the data sent to the monitor is still encrypted, then the only thing that will copy what you see on the screen will be a camera or a camcorder.

    sure, real world analog can not be protected, but they can make the computer totaly encrypted with all decryption done in the output device....I am sure that 99% of folks who pirate would not waist there time or the media companies will be satified that there product is at a quality advantage and not worry any longer becasue the the audio and video quality would:

    1)not be stable
    2)not be much better than analog AM/TV waves

    I am not saying that people will not keep doing what ever they can, but at a minimum, the media companies will have controled all the battle ground that they "legaly" could have by encrypting down to the output device.

    if the computer plays no roll in the decryption of the data, then it can not printscreen or rip audio, etc.

    we will just need smarter output devices.

    you are the moron...the only part the unencodes the data would be the display device, not the computer...all the computer knows is that it is sending a pack of encrypted data to the monoitor or to the speakers or to the printer or

    the output device is what decrypts, not the computer.

    you just make all lines of communication encrypted...the Monitor gets fed encrypted data, the sound card reads and outputs encrypted data to USB speakers, etc......

    if all output is encrypted, then users can not use an untrusted program like print screen or Stream rip etc to make copies....of cource the only way to have that be the future of computing would be for all media companies to buy all the tech companies.....or a legislative decision.
