They don't favor 4:3. Current iPhone is 480x320, aspect ratio 1.5. The resolution I've seen suggested for this device is 960x640, which is also AR 1.5.

By that logic, asking people for money should be illegal because you create a demand for them to mug someone for it.

This is a poor comparison that does not match the OP logic. There are many ways to acquire money to fill the "demand." There's only one way to fulfill the demand for real child pornography.

This is an excellent point. For the people complaining about PATH vars, we just need intelligent path handling. For example PATH=/software that contains package directories, each with a bin subdirectory. When searching for binaries in the path look in /software/*/bin.

The number of windows doesn't seem to be the problem the way I look at it. I usually have lots of windows open in photoshop too. The problem is the SIZE, of the windows, the widgets, everything. Things are smaller in Photoshop so more fits on the screen. Sometimes it can be hard to hit a certain button, but I prefer this to the Gimp's relatively massive interface.

The Silmarillion, as a movie, would be as fun as watching someone read a history/geography book unless they took a large amount of artistic freedom. We all know how people react to artistic freedom and Tolkien books. Their only chance would be to have John Cleese be the one reading.
