Having said that though RISCOS (I think, the one on the Archimedes) used to allow that. You hit Save and the icon appeared for you to drag somewhere.
...nice in that you could see exactly where you were saving it, but not nice in that if you clicked "save" and type in a name only to realise the window you want to save it in isn't visible.
In the good old Acorn vs. Amiga wars of yore the Amiga's file requesters were a deadly weapon.
I seem to recall hearing about the plane pulling up itself, irrelevant of what the pilot was trying to do.
If the pilot was coming in too low the plane would correct by aiming upwards. If the pilot tried to correct this by pushing further the plane would just incline more. Several planes have crashed by stalling because of pilots doing the instinctive thing of pushing the stick forward to try to level out, but actually just making the computer take the plane higher.
I agree... I get the virus notifications from everyone on our network; recently that's 233 Klez-G, 7 Klez-H and a very brief spurt of Yaha_E just recently. Klez is miles ahead...
Aargh, all of a sudden that philosophical tome of Jurassic Park springs to mind, with Malcolm talking about how we won't destroy the planet, we'll just destroy ourselves...

Errr, they already do... quite common in skylights, the window opens and closes depending on a little white control box with a sensor in it on the wall. Plugging this into a normal computer is not something I've seen before though.
The 24 hour clock system is surely based on our own planet... what about others? That's discriminating against aliens, and so must be against their alien rights or something...
Gator is one of the few pieces of software I _really_ dislike... it popped up after silently installing itself when I installed something and obviously missed the "this will install random carp" bit in the readme.
I recall the Gator installer even runs with a command line switch of -silentinstall or something. Grrrr.

So we should get rid of ways to close programs? I dread to think how much you'd have running if the computer is on for more than an hour or two.

"For weapon use, have function: no color, no smell, will let person dead in a few second,"
...right next to a big advert for "Great Gift Ideas for the Holidays".
I had to smile...

Are you one of those who simply can't write "serve" without automatically adding the "r" on the end? Join the club...
(I did it, just then...)

"Will Bill Gates eat Steve Ballmer? Tune in tomorrow on Survivor 2.0, same time, same server!"
I'm getting an image of them doing a Battle-Royale stylee thingy... 3 days, 1 survivor...
I'm sure people wouldn't mind passing on theirs if you ask nicely... :)
...and whilst I type that, 234...
