  2. Re:No Experience? on Ideal Linux System for Newbies? · · Score: 0, Troll

Yesterday was Xmas. A whole lot of n00bs just got computers. How many have Linux? I would guess none. Someone used to Windows would be lost with any version of Linux, except maybe Linspire with Click and Run, as soon as they tried to install new software. They would then be berated as idiots if they went online looking for help.

Linux is of, by, and for unsociable dorks and dweebs who have no life beyond farting around with computers all day. They probably live in their mother's basements. Tired of Windows? Get a Mac. It just works.

Ripping off children has been the recording industry's MO from day one. That is why teen pop is such noise. They will stop listening to such junk when they grow up, so rob them now!

Productivity takes a terrible nosedive when office workers have to stop doing their jobs to learn new software. Banking is a very conservative industry. The old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a mantra there, and why shouldn't it be?

If they refuse to sell hardware alone, they could pre-install a free Linux distro that the user can keep or toss without losing anything of value. They don't because they signed an agreement with Microsoft. In the PC industry, the customer is always wrong. The worst part of HP and Compaq systems is that they have spyware pre-installed that phones home as soon as a customer connects to the net. It allegedly keep you updated, but Windows can do that itself. Dell is not much better.

Their next title will be called Crusader. In the first part of it, you go to the middle east in the time of the crusades to kill Arabs, Byzantine Christians, and anyone else who happens to get in the way. Let God sort them out. If you win that portion, the next one is witch hunting back in Europe. Don't leave a single woman or girl alive, she could easily be a witch! You also break into Jewish ghettos killing Rabbis and burning Synagogues. The weird, unchristian stuff they do in there is probably witchcraft, too. Phase 3 is set here in Jesusland, formerly known as The United States. It is a lot like the left behind game, as it is set in modern times, which every fundie knows are the end-times. Kill! Kill! I agree. Boycotting is the only recourse consumers have. But there is one other thing I have to say. Do not call the recording industry the music industry. Plastic disks are a commodity produced by an industry, music is not. It has been around since the dawn of time, not just since the invention of the phonograph. It is best enjoyed live, not on any payback medium. It in many forms that the recording industry bloodsuckers don't think they can make a buck off of, and ignore. No industry owns music.
