    And the best part is that the same people that make the argument that eating meat is cruel are often the same people that believe that DNA research is immoral.

    I don't think that's a safe statement. My guess is that the anti-meat-eaters are fewer in number.

    There is an AppleCare plan for the iPods? I wanted to buy one for mine, but I never saw it advertised.

    Oh well. All that's happened is the remote wore out after living in my pockets, and I suppose I could replace it if I wanted to.

    They would, but there are licensing issues involved. I'm not exactly sure how it all works, but the MPEG4 codec has something to do with it.

    Well, if I were 4 or 5 years younger, single, and if she/you live anywhere near Massachusetts, maybe.

    As it is, I'm 24 and engaged. But... she uses Windows... :-D

    Suffice it to say, I still think girls (and my fiancee is still a "girl") are pretty. :)

    Knowing what's best and doing what's best are two different things. It sounds like you do both. Other kids, not as... moral/intelligent/whatever, will know what's best and only appear to do what's best.

    Yeah, I saw the Penny Arcade bit. But I don't actually know him, so I couldn't count him. What I do know, is that my Windows-loving, Apple-hating, Penny Arcade-worshipping ex-friend must have had a fit when he saw that. And the post where Gabe admits he wants Apple stuff (but settles on a monitor.) :)

    Then why didn't you just use the "Open" dialog!!

    All in all, I find it depressing that this happens to me enough where I find it a useful feature.

    How to tell when you're talking to a Windows user that doesn't know jack about Mac:

    You: "Do you use a Mac?"
    Him: "No."
    You: "Why not?"
    Him: "I just don't."

    More often than not, people don't like the Mac because they just don't like the Mac. (or as they say, the MAC). See how far circular logic will get you around here.
