I'm a freshman in CSE at The Ohio State University. This past quarter, I was reading a book almost every day while waiting for my University 101 class to start. My adviser teaches the course and the course is all engineers in the honors program. One day waiting for class to start she looks at me and says "You know, I really don't see many engineers reading novels around here."
It really struck me; I thought, besides the literature-based degrees, engineers would be the most likely to carry a book with them. Maybe she was emphasizing novel, as opposed to those programming books I will have my nose stuck in the rest of my college career.
I'm a freshman at Ohio State(one of the largest uni's in the country), and of the 6,075 first year student, 1,500 are enrolled in the college of engineering. I'd say a good 90% are american. Actually, I'd say about 75% of the university is from the great state of ohio.
With all the infrastructure already in place, no one is going to put a 'n card in their desktop when their current NIC is more secure and more reliable. If I were continually lugging my desktop machine to different locations in my house it would be different, but, uhh, I'm not.
It doesn't just get past the reg barrier, you can get past the whole freakin' archive fee. Found a backlogged story that demands $3 to purchase? Punch it in this page, and you get free access.
Yes, and I'm a man and have a sex drive. This is considered ok, and I'm allowed to have consensual sex with women. But I'm not allowed to rape them. Do you think I should?
That proves that you're a man, the first analogy you could think up involved sex and women..
Is that the site you ordered it from? I've been watching for something like that, and many are half the size for that price. I'd like to know how reputable that site is.
DeadAIM does it. It's like AIM+ in that it latches on to the regular aim client. There's other nice features, tabbed messenger windows, cloning so you can run more then one s/n at once. Stuff like that
I'm sure you can get anything, anywhere in that area. I am just assuming, but this is one of the most dense, "hi-tech" area's in the world we're talking about.
"I have 3D studio max and it is very powerful. However, it is also very expensive and very very difficult to learn. I don't recommend it for the weak of heart."
Last time I checked 3D Studio MAX went for ~$3000 while Maya Complete went for ~$8000.
He's mentioned possibly using Maya. If he is, price doesn't look like much of a concern.;)
Also, I think 3D Studio MAX has the easiest to use UI of any "professional" 3d packasges. I've used it off an on for a year or so, and like it a lot. I find myself flying through the UI;)
Of course, as with any profession program (especially graphics), it's takes a while to learn the ropes, but not anymore then with Maya or Lightwave......
MAX is used primarily for special effects and animation, while Lightwave and Maya emphesize(sp?) more on modeling. I happen to know the renderer that comes stock with MAX isn't quite as advanced out-of-the-box as Maya and Lightwave's.

Jimmy Page has been using the Transperformance system for years.

I agree as well. I run PS CS2 but I use irfanview for everything I can get away with
In google's case, I believe the content was streamed from their servers. They didn't want to keep up the service for a few number of customers.
In Apple's case, the content is physically on your PC/iPod, although DRM'd, so no harm done.
I think
I see you have successfully thwarted the system. Isn't there some law against posting the same comment twice in two different threads?
Did anyone else read that as "Windows Not Expected Until 2011, Says MS"? I thought Longhorn was pulling a Duke Nukem Forever.

The only part that isn't compatible is the 56k modem, and i doubt many of us here would use it anyway.
I've always wondered what would happen if Microsoft jsut dissapeared off this earth.
The world would just not be the same

10. A cool hand gesture: Flick off your computer to close the current application
"How much you can overclock a pen. I guess it depends on how hot it runs.
If it gets to hot I wouldn't want that pen in my front pants pocket.
I would.
Mmmmmm
I think he was talking about the "on IE 6" part, NOT the copywrite.
..That's why I still wear one.
Isn't that a kind of networking cable?
It seems it merely muffles the sonic boom. The technology doesn't completely silence it.

Shouldn't it be too? :p

"We built our system on Microsoft Windows because Windows is a reliable, solid, reasonably priced, nearly universal platform
Isn't "reliable, solid, reasonably priced Windows" an EXTREME oxymoron??
