There is nothing else to say, SORRY :(

But yes, it will support the new DDR-333. Also - it won't be until the Barton chip that AMD will have 512kb of L2 cache (currently only at 256kb)

Talk about how people say MIPS and Alpha is dead (just a little trolling) - who honestly uses or knows of someone using a 386 anymore.

Why don't all distro companiesstart atleast compiling for 486 and also have at the least a distro that is compiled entirely for, say 586 (like Mandrake).

I don't understand why companies like RedHat (who make a great solid modern distro) don't make available for the more modern processors a distro optimized for it.

Why sacrafice new technology (speed) for the old and thus making the new run at the speeds of the old?

I use Gnome 1.4 and am looking for some solid feedback as to the stability, speed and configuability of Gnome 2. If all I can base Gnome 2.0 on is this articles author's point of view, I will undoubtedly NOT upgrade.

that RedHat is turning into a monopoly. There for the longest time I thought the 'm' in monopoly stood for 'M'icro$oft. But now I am starting to think that it just stands for 'm'oney.

I truly do hate saying this, since I am and have been for the past 3+ years been running soley RedHat (none of that dual boot crap like most of you out there). But Redhat, which has done great things in the advancement of both a workstation and server linux has outstreched its arms on this one. First with Oracle, now this...

I only hope that it enhances the product, not the price (like other companies, M$, have done).

I don't mean to get on a rant here but who, what or why have people come to some type of conception that they need to make money off of the products of open source. Open Source development is LEAST concerned with this. This might be a good point to state again, OPEN SOURCES LEAST CONCERN IS MAKING MONEY.

Now yes, granted that some software firms have been able to make money off of open source - but not without them adding additional features/enhancements (code) of their own. (e.g Any Linux distro, Sun-StarOffice etc...)

But what irritates me is that people program and share code expecting payment from some "open source consortium" or such. IMHO - as a few developer in the Open Source community, I and MANY OTHERS program and GIVE their code because of their love of computer science and technology and to be able to contribute to the further development and improvement of ALREADY great software.

But, at the same time - that is how these programs work. They don't care what you share, as long as you share - and share everything you have. Because it adds content to their network. And that is all that the want.
