    That is my recommendation too. It gets the job done, dont nag you, and seems to use not much resources. I use it on my windows installations. I never taught I would recommend a microsoft product in my life... but there it is.

    I agree smartphones are very flexible today. But not to the extent where it can replace a workstation... doing serious graphics work and all. The point was, if you need to create and be productive doing it, dont throw away your desktop/laptop yet as my friend is doing.

    Exactly, I have a friend who claims he's only computer is an android phone. Now he is in charge of creating and maintaining the website os his new venture and have much trouble just getting wordpress installed on his server... I advised him to remove the dust from one of his computer and use it... we'll see how it goes.

    Phones and tablets are consumption devices, period. You need to be productive? get a computer.

    Do you have any idea of the rice tag of this processor module? To chieve this IBM threw lots of money in MCM ceramic modules and what not. IBM POWER series are not meant for volume production, are not cheap and will not fit inside anything portable by today's standards. Way to compare apples and oranges!

    Time tracking, as an peon employee can be tedious to keep. But as soon as you have to manage your team, bill clients and justify the fees and report to your boss, it becomes a priceless tool. We did billed toilet time to clients though, and it was not a call center.

    Google's server architecture is custom made for their datacenters and built around their application. What they could offer is a turn-key datacenter thet requires a similar workload to theirs... and it is not their business to do so.

    That is why you should use OpenBSD, as it has been and is continously audited for security, and it uses proactive crypto deployment everywhere it fits. That is why development is slower... Need bleeding edge or stable security? pick ONE.

    I agree machine learning are not there yet, but this field is progressing. I would not be surprised if this capability would be reached within a lifetime.

    This would mean we would not start gathering data for centuries, and only if the probe have enough energy left then AND can aim to the earth with sufficient precision... let's start by mapping our close neighbourhood first and let technology evolve more before we do such adventure.
