Fuck the DNC list. When I had a land line, don't have this problem anymore, a few years ago. I figured there was only one way to handle it and build myself a call screening box. Here's how it worked. I got a modem that did the caller id thing. Then I sniffed around and found a program that would screen my calls. There where tons of them but the links I had to the free one are no longer any good. Do a google search I guess to find them now.
Here is how it worked. I had two lists a fuck off list and ring through list. The program would ring on the computer when some one was calling so the computer would ring. I turned off the ringer on the phone. When someone called that was on the fuck off list, private number, or blocked or unlisted, the program would simply pick up the phone then hand up. It would never even ring.
If you where not on ether list then you got dumped into voice mail to leave a message. Again the computer wouldn't even ring. If you got dumped into my voice mail and didn't leave a message I added you to the fuck off list. So if the computer didn't know you and you where to lazy to leave a message fuck you.
If you where on my white list then the computer would ring letting me know I had a call. My annoying phone calls went to almost nothing. They went to nothing a year later when I ripped the fucking phone out by the wires.
Sorry, but that "think of the children" shit, is bullshit too. Don't buy into it. Reality and logic don't add up to using a tazer on a 6 year old. What they do add up to is lazy cops taking the eazy way out.
One of those officers got in trouble, the other one had a child threatening him with a piece of broken glass. If you're old enough to brandish a weapon at a cop, you're old enough to get tasered IMNSHO.

They thought their actions where justifed. They where not, and that is whole fucking arguement. It's easy to justify non-lethal force.
As for the second case, that is more bullshit. A six year old with a piece of broken glass is no real threat to an adult. The child could have been disarmed in less time than I take to think about it. Any officer that can't handle a six year old with out having to use a weapon doesn't need to be a cop. One of the things that signify a police state is normal people are afraid of the police. I'm not referring to the criminal element in society but just everyday people. If you don't think we are living in a police state ask your friends and people around you if they are afraid of the police. I'm scared shitless of them and I grew up surrounded by cops. My dad was a cop, my uncle, and my cousin is one now.
I also don't like the current military theme that seems to be sweeping police forces. Cops used to look like cops. The funny looking hats and shit. Now they wear base ball caps and look like military. The cops in my home town used to carry shotgun in their car. Now the fucker have M16's.
When a cop uses any kind of weapon, a gun, a tazer, his club, or even mace it should be treated as if he used a lethal weapon. He should supended pending an investigation. Have his head checked out by a shirnk. The whole fucking works. The use of any weapon by law enforcement should always be a last resort.

Can you burn it to a cd? Then it's not ipod resistant, just ipod annoying. Just write it to a cdrom or virutal cd, then turn around, rip and encode to mp3. Yes, you do lose some quality but not enough that you would actually notice the first time around if you encode it with enought bits. IE above 128K.

The HD box that I paid 800 bucks back in 2003 about, blew up a few weeks ago. They fedex me a new one the next day and had some monkey out there a week later to install a new 5 lnb dish for me, for free. Well not for free, I'm stuck with them for anohter 2 years but that seems to be fine with me.
Directv seems to be going through some changes right now and they are notice able. I'm seeing more and more pixlation in their signal as they add more channels. I think they are about out of bandwidth on the old mpeg2 sats. That is what my free upgrade was for. They seem to want to get me off of that old system and on to the new mpeg4 system as fast as they can.
