FTA: Burns implied that the vehicle was not intended to meet the sort of collision standards that ordinary automobiles are subjected toâ€"meaning no airbags or crumple zones. â€oeOur aim is to do collision avoidance,†said Burns.
So, basically if you screw up, your dead. Yeah, that's a real seller..
Hell, part of our science class included detailed instructions on the construction of a pipe bomb. I'd hope they aren't still teaching this today, but knowing the teacher I wouldn't be supprised.
I remember one science class just 10 years ago where our teacher miscalculated the effect of his demonstration. One student ended up with stitches from a flying piece of beaker. (thankfully no lawsuits involved.)
After that, we had to stand at the back of the room during explosive demonstrations.
I expect that the phone carriers wouldn't go for paid updates, but for the ipod touches they can do whatever they want.. and they want to take your money.
Also, they tend to shorten yellow lights to maximize profit. In reality it's been shown that extending yellow lights slightly gives almost the same reduction of accidents as red light cameras...
Next thing you know there will be grid lock chaos becuase no one wants to chance turning right on a red and they'll need to spend double the money they've made to expand all of the roads!
Of course he used a fitting that required the moisture of the coolant to stay connected, once the coolant was gone the fitting dried out and fell off several minutes before the engine overheated, leaving only a small hole.
at a few places around where I live. I don't expect they would circulate around your whole house, but I don't have a wood stove so I really can't say for sure.
"To alter the brightness of an LED you pulse them at some cycle rate."
That's also the way to annoy the hell out of people. Alternatly you could use two sets of LED's for the brake lights (covered with a diffuser?), say 30% on for tail lights, and both the 30% set and 70% set on for brakes?
Or you could use a resistor based circuit to limit the current?
I'm sure there's even better solutions than this, but pulsing them has got to be the worst...
I was planning on building a DC power supply & buying a few sets, but once I calculated the cost of the lights & power supply for how many lights we use, as well as how long anything lasts around me (3-7 years max) I determined that it was cheaper just to buy some lower wattage incandescents (5 watt instead of 7)
Incandecents also do a much better job of melting the snow away so people can actually see them:)
I know, what if they just installed secured computers which allow exclusive access to their system, in various locations throughout the country so there was always one near by!
They could even install cash dispensing devices to allow you to withdraw funds from your account, maybe call them Automated Teller Machines or something along those lines. Wow, I should totally patent this idea
I've had quite a few issues with Ubuntu because of my years of using windows. I'm used to hitting Enter rather than clicking for the default actions. Especially the overwrite file dialogs which default to 'no' in windows and 'yes' in ubuntu
True, I was thinking it could be cleaned on a regular basis. However if it was (and likely would be) your only source of clean water, that could become difficult I suppose.
By toxic enviroment, I was speaking to the air quality, as that is where the water is coming from. I would expect that if you can safely breathe the air, you should be able to drink the water from that same air..

However, ranting about things which you have little/no knowledge of often give that impression.
Maybe a bluetooth module for connection to a decent GPS in your pocket/car, etc?

Too bad there's no way for them to profit off of this... If there were, i'm pretty sure we'd all be a lot safer right now.

Really, it seems more like "I can almost see the inside from my bedroom windows with my telescope" news...
Makes sense really, it would be pretty dumb to drop a brand new laptop for each presentation..
5.25" floppies were only used until '82? I was using them well into 1992...
Do the authors really make much more from audio books? or does much of the extra revenue go to the reader, production and publisher?
On the other hand, I'd personally go for the PC as I know that there's probably 1/2 the competition, and much greater odds for me to win..

Yes, the moon bugs are very bad in the sping and don't even get me started on Monsoon season!
Really, what is in the information age. On the other hand I'd trust an ATM over a public PC any day...
Reading below, this would clearly not be big enough.
I've seen fans like these:
