That's the happy memory of the BBS era. Playing TW2002 with people, and kicking their asses in the 416. That game was great, hours of enjoyment, and the strategies applied both to game play, knowing when the system rolled over, and when your opponents played (and henced busying the line). Yes I was a geek back then, but boy was it a fun distraction..

It was an interesting time and the first board I connected to was Eternity III found from the C64 for advertisings... My C64... It had some fun games.

Those were the years when there actually was a community... Since good boards took effort to connect to.

Separation of Church and State should work both ways... If God (Church) has to be removed from State... then State should stay out of Church.

But as a US History major, I have come to see and understand, the American population goes through transitions, rights are given, when abused, they are taken away, then they are returned. Why? Because a democracy is made up of people, and when there is a real threat, some freedoms need to be restrained slightly.

Look at the American Japanese, then the Communist witch hunt, the ridicule of the Christian right, and now the Muslim extremists. Groups are targeted, but eventually things balance out.. And they tend to balance out ONCE THE THREAT IS GONE!

I believe in RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITIES! You shouldn't have one without the other... But that's just me... If you hippies want to protest, I've got some pepper spray and water cannons for you!

    Wrong equation...

This is but one of hopefully many penalties Microsoft will have to endure. Who knows, it might even lead to a more secure IE.

A company that is successful can be a monopoly, but their behavior has to be that of a naturing mother letting the children play inside the house, and even at times helping the children.

Instead MS has proven themselves to be a dictator, with a "my way or the highway" attitude. Their abuses are why they should now be punished...

Shit, I was saying this back in 97 before the shit really started to fly. You could see it then, but now you can really see it.

And though SUN as also been a real big dick, they haven't been as bad (yet), so I'll side with them... But in coming years, I'll probably be against them too. Corporations seem to have such short memories of when they were the underdog..

If anything that is a good thing. I personally don't know PERL, choosing at the time to pursue ASP and Visual Basic (though now I code 90% in Delphi).

One of the things I don't like is having to lay down lots of code to do something so simple as screen output. Over the last year or so I have been rewriting my company's primary application, increasing the inheritance and modular coding with the purpose of future programmers only needing to scratch the surface rather then go to the base code.

Giving managers a fuzzy feeling? Give them a stuff toy, you can code shit both in PERL and JAVA and about any other language that can leave one open to exploit. The more concepts a programmer must understand and use (for basic tasks), the more likely they are to mess up.

Coding and security come both by approach and experience. The langauge is irrelevant and the certificate is to... Otherwise MSCE would really mean something.
