TiVo + Blockbuster == yawn, blockbuster just trying to save its butt. But if TiVo teamed up with Apple, OMG, finally a DVR with a great selection and a user interface that didn't suck!
Students need to actually learn the theories before questioning them.
But my point is deeper than that, or more fundamental. I'm saying that the value of the scientific method itself as a tool for learning should be taught early, with students encouraged and enabled to discover it for themselves. Once they see what a powerful tool it is and understand its applications and limitations, then they will be more able to "learn theories," by which I assume you mean study the work of others to gain understanding about the world, right?
After much appreciated feedback from the contestants, weâ(TM)ll be sure that such details as version numbers of the OS and exact hardware specs are made available well in advance.
Understanding domain [wikipedia.org] is a very important science lesson you seem to have missed.
Probably because it isn't taught in school. One big problem with science education is that it tends to be taught as THE TRUTH without any nuances that show why scientists regard it as reliable and useful. I understand doing this at young ages, but by the age of 12 or so, I'd think most kids can grasp and might even be interested in WHY science is constructed as it is.
How about if Obama does a thorough review of all of his OWN policies, to see if they match up with all of the shit he promised he'd do when he was campaigning and the constitution...

Um, if 1.6% or more of all CS people are unemployed, I think it's weird to say that's "beyond full employment." How is it that you can even be beyond full employment? Weird! LOL
Actually, to really understand them, you should give up stories like "The Democrats and Republicans are hell bent on completely destroying this country." What they are really hell bent on is just staying in power. So yes, vote them out of office. But we need a new conversation to replace the old one, or the "new boss will be the same as the old boss," as I believe the old Who song goes.
This doesn't sound like "civil disobedience." It sounds like a malicious act of mischief. It's more like an attack than a "protest." How is this effort any more noble than the actions of any malware-peddling script kiddy?
The title says "charge," but there is no discussion of quick charging, just lots of discharging talk. I for one would welcome a phone that charges in 10 seconds. But nobody is discussing that. Instead we have talk of railguns etc. Right.
The $79 million was not due to the size of Microsoft, as the summary implies. It was because of the size of Yahoo. A small company would not have to spend $79 million to figure out the impact of MS buying it.
FTFA: "Hackers have increasingly sought to find vulnerabilities in applications as Microsoft has spent much effort into making its Vista OS more secure."

To give a false representation to; misrepresent: "He spoke roughly in order to belie his air of gentility" (James Joyce).
To show to be false; contradict: Their laughter belied their outward grief.
Sensor drift is a perfect but unfortunate example of the problems encountered in near-real-time analysis. We stress, however, that this error in no way changes the scientific conclusions about the long-term decline of Arctic sea ice, which is based on the the consistent, quality-controlled data archive discussed above.

Can you say, Parallelism?
Huh? When you post anonymously, you don't have a reasonable expectation of anonymity? WTF? What twisted legalism brings forth such vomit?

Why don't we rejoice that this gives patients a CHOICE in the matter. Let people make up their own minds about the risk.
.
That's already being done.
I think it's the reverse. People most likely to fear death are the ones most likely to turn to religion which offers a hope in an afterlife.

South Park sucks. :-)

Um, you linked to the same story you are posting about.

Not everyone knows how to compile software.

Not "restarting." "Starting." They have never had a release schedule as they do not do releases. OR didn't. Whatever.

Is this true? Any corroborating info from anyone?
I don't know if it's BS or not, but my experience is that Safari 4 is much MUCH faster at rendering than Safari 3 was, FWIW.
You mean, will Apple begin to tightly integrate their browser into their operating system? Sounds familiar. Anyone know any lawyers? :-)

Look at the chart in the article, and you'll see it has no multiple inheritance. Might be pretty important to some. :-)
