why not just filter emails so you can only accept them from certain addresses? your solution forces users to install another app on their machines if they want to communicate with you electronically.
If U of A is anything like University of Georgia, they don't mix their academic budgets with their athletic budgets. All of the money that is made through the athletic department is kept within that department and vice versa.
i got a call one time from a telemarketer and went along with it and said i was really interested. i told her that i was busy and asked if i could write down her information and call her back. she agreed. busted. i only did that once to see if it would work and it did. now i don't even answer the phone. caller ID is a wonderful thing.
if the only reason you're holding out on buying a car is because of the high insurance price, you are either:
a) an idiot b) poor and want another excuse other than "i'm poor" c) a jerk d) live in a city where you don't need a car (Chicago, New York, etc.) e) all of the above
my grandmother is 80 years old. 80. she uses a computer for email and that's about it. i specifically told her not to buy a beige box from a local retailer because i knew she would need help. what did i tell her?? "hey grandma, you can buy a Dell for $400 right now and it will do everything you need and more". she couldn't be happier. and i couldn't be happier because she calls Dell's tech support instead of me.
From XP web site: "Extreme Programming (XP) was created in response to problem domains whose requirements change. Your customers may not have a firm idea of what the system should do. You may have a system whose functionality is expected to change every few months. In many software environments dynamically changing requirements is the only constant. This is when XP will succeed while other methodologies do not."
I'm no expert, but isn't this exactly what OOA and OOD is all about? Isn't the whole point of OOA and OOD to get away from the "waterfall method" and allow changes in requirements, use cases, code, etc...?
Am I the only person on here who doesn't give a rat's ass about my uptime (talking desktop pc here)?? I turn off my machine at night because it saves me money on my electric bill and because it saves electricity. Granted, it's not much, but you see articles all the time about how turning off your computer can save x amount of dollars. My RedHat 9 box takes forever to load but I still turn it off every day. My XP box takes less than 30 seconds.
holy fucking troll. quasi-socialist western european countries hardly qualify as "for the people, of the people, by the people." they rape the individual with enormous tax rates.
"For the corps, of the corps, and by the corps". i'll call your bullshit. the U.S. has the fourth highest corporate tax rates in the OECD. like it or not, but big companies are what drive the U.S. economy.
jesus dude, talk about an over reaction. the music has nothing to do with this lawsuit. if you are such a huge fan and love their music so much why do you even care about a silly trademark, copywrite, whatever it is lawsuit. good music is good music so don't let corporate greed get in the way.
I just requested an RMA from ABIT for my GeForce4 Ti 4200 128 MB today. I bought the card in March of this year and this is the second time I've had to return it. The first time took 3.5 weeks and I was stuck with my GeForce 2. I don't know if it's an ABIT issue or an Nvidia issue, but two times in three months (since the last failure) is unacceptable. Just goes to show that video cards do go bad.
Oh yeah, I don't overclock and have default mobo settings. The GeForce 2 has worked fine for years.
Even though $720 seems like a huge price difference, even small gains in performance can result in thousands of dollars in saved time. I would think the better performance of the Nvidia would end up costing far less than the ATI in the long run.
"If I'm not mistaken, it currently requires a judge's order in the united states to collect a DNA sample. Now all you have to do is dust something touched by the suspect to get a DNA sample"
Where in that statement does it say that you don't have to have a judge's order to collect DNA from prints?
I'm not trolling, but there is plenty of time to work things out. The first Raptor squadron is scheduled to be operational in 2005. On a side note, I live in Atlanta, GA USA and watch these bad boys fly into the Lockheed-Martin/Dobbins Air Force complex every now and then. They are usually flanked by a couple of F-18's and the F-22 seems much larger than the F-18's. Very cool to watch, and very cool to think about how dominant they will be in the skies.
i would rather see ads about products that i enjoy and use such as computers, sports, and beer than a couple ads for tampons, an ad for diamonds, or a ton of ads with annoying women selling clothes.
i used to have hundreds of floppies lying around. cd-r's came out so i burned all the data to cd and tossed the floppies (don't even have a floppy drive anymore). when the next really cheap medium comes out for storing data i will transfer all my data to that and toss the cd's. i can see myself doing this same procedure about once every decade. not bad at all.

Perhaps that should be modified to:

man, i would love to have that much free time.
Just my 2 cents:

You may be right, but they sure as hell make it seem like it's an Outlook/Exchange killer for the masses.
