Since the issue is mostly that the US gov is using snort and is at risk, how about not using snort anymore? Seriously they are preventing the sale of private companies because they are to lazy to seek alternative solutions.
Please don't reply to this post with 'snort is free and open source!' the US gov has money, and will license the code if needed to any solution that they need or request copies (Like microsoft vs china)
I still have a copy of the original nintendo/zelda game but the damn battery died. Lucky for me gamecube had a zelda edition with zelda1 and zelda2 which I promptly bought. Best $100 spent in awhile. I could have opened up the game and mucked around with the battery, but I'm lazy.
Windows doesn't run on sun hardware (sparc) either. Linux is known to run on multiple chipsets. So seriously is this news? Sounds more like the linux crowd patting itself on its back again.
I'm sorry but that cartoon *is* making sense if people are killing each other over freedom of expression. I wish I owned a newspaper so I could reprint it.
Being able to track manual and automated test execution is part of *standard* QA. Tracking 'expected' test execution and actual test execution is also the job of an organized mature QA department.
Perhaps if you had a worked in an organized company you'd know this.
As always 'Anonymous Coward Who Can't use Their Own account for Fear of it being tracked back to them' it's been great talking with you.
"The BSD people (and keep in mind that I'm obviously generalizing) are often perfectionists. They hone something specific for a long time, and then they frown on anything that doesn't meet their standards of perfection. The OpenBSD single-minded focus on security is a good example." - linus
So what he's saying is bsd people don't release as much buggy code. I'll have to agree with him here with the bimonthly linux kernel security vulnerabilities creeping up. 2 years and no 'root level' exploit in freebsd's kernel.....
Seriously couldn't they have interviewed gartner or someone (not to say gartner is great) who has enough knowledge to answer this question without being on the development team of one of the products?
Within the next 10 years or so we'll start to see a big boom in R&D in countries like India and China with Technologies relating to computer systems. America will soon find itself 'competing' agressively with these countries due to the low costs of running a buisness. For the past few years robotics have agressively developed and will probably end up being the next 'big thing'. Of course the US will jump on board. Could this be the next 'Bubble'?
'How to be malicious with search engines'.
BTW this is nothing new. Google '1997 Simple Nomad hack faq' which explains using search engines (at the time altavista) to do exactly what this 'groundbreaking book' says!

If it only works in IE then obviously it wasn't QA'd properly and we shouldn't bother visiting your link since the person can't even get something as simple as a web page tested properly.
I can put it on my car, take off the license plate, rob a few banks, and peel it off 5 minutes later with no worries of the cops looking for a 'red' car of the same make and model as mine.

So what if china (or another country) tells google to remove specific historial data from these archives?

I've written an FAQ on this type of attack which can be found below.

Porn seems to be a primary use for the internet so does this mean more women are looking at porn then men?

It amazes me that such a widely used product takes 10 years to implement Quality Assurance 101. I can hear the headlines now
"Linux Kernel team introduces Requirement to defect tracking".
OpenBSD Alpha is dying!

Years later and finally it is getting some *basic* QA testing done! What will they think of next!

Step 1 setup a website Step 2 click on the link Example: Go to www.cgisecurity.com and click on the banners! Step 3 gain karma on slashdot :p
That is all.
