    A movie called 'How I made my first $20 million' asked this same exact question. The difference being the people in this movie had to include the monitor, keyboard, and mouse in their design. Worth watching at least once.

    Now that IE patches are going to stop users of outlook (aka enterprise) on win2k will have to switch unless they want to get 'auto infected' by viruses. While people may switch to foxfire for browsing, switching away from outlook will be very difficult for enterprise users. Note: You will always have the idiot who will click on an attachment.

    100mhz shell server on bsdi with 256 megs of ram. I asked why don't you upgrade and they said 'no need this works fine'. Even if it averages a load of 3 it runs smooth. usually 20 users logged in, primary MX for over 300 domain names, and running smtp and pop for users. Proof old hardware is still worth using. Oh and that bsd is better then linux. Prepare for the flame wars...

    You would have to be anonymous to make that post. pussy. Yes it is relivant for rootkits. Other people may find it to be interesting. The majority of the people on slashdot run unix and this checks for unix rootkits.

    Make a transparent proxy for all outgoing port 80 traffic. Only allow it to forward valid http requests (not encrypted over port 80. By default http doesn't support encryption with the exception of www-authentication). This would block that port 80 connection. Second find out which servers it is connecting to and block them. Third block all its standard ports.

    The pay rate is very true. I applied for and got a job for 43k that 3 years ago i could have gotten 60k+ for. The market is pretty bad in the computer world and people have to learn to deal until things turn around. Until then learn as much as you can, go back to school, etc....

    NEVER BUY THIS MODEL if you plan on running anything other then WinXP or freebsd. Linux gets irq conflicts among other major problems. My case cracked within 1 week of being bought at the left corner at the hindge and it started to crack the main monitor. I got it replaced luckily.
