Toyota recalled all cars manafactured since the start of the company. According to Hiyasuka Miamoto, official Toyota spokesperson, the recall will be effective immediately and no new cars will be produced "untill people stop being so fucking stupid!".

Moral of the story; warnings are called warnings for a reason.

There, the topic ought to be clear enough. And by a failure I mean that it failed to achieve it's objectives. That includes the objectives set by ARPAnet aeons ago, stating the net should be able to survive a nuclear attack. It can barely survive a few badly written worms and it nearly crumbles when a few centralized DNS servers are attacked. It also failed as an academic network, because the internet is 90% bullshit*, 9% dead links and perhaps 1% of actually useful information.

The internet could use a good hard reset, along with the entire world of computer users.

Isn't cybersquatting a bit against the rules? If it isn't, shouldn't it be? It would clean up the web quite a bit if some sort of INDEPENDANT, LEGAL body were to sanction cyber-squatting by removing DNS records pointing to squatted sites, removing the DNS servers of said company from the root DNS server list and generally request localized sanctions such as IP blackholing of IP ranges belonging to companies which are verified to be hosting/doing fairly unnice things?* (spam, spyware distribution, RIAA, etc)

*) Said IP blocks would be well regulated and possibly any severe consequences avoided by warning admins of sites in advance of an IP range being blocked, giving them enough time to transfer their sites somewhere else. This is especially effective since it both disturbs the net less and it hurts the shady hosting companies where it hurts most, in the wallet.

If someone dies, no amount of money can bring them back, yet a certain amount of money can make them 'forget' it happened.
