I don't think this really qualifies as running on Linux. I started using linux to get away from proprietary software and crash-prone dll libraries.
And now to play moo3, I'd need to install WineX, which if I'm not mistaken is a proprietary extension of Wine, and requires authentic windows dll files to run.
No money for free/open software?

I was not aware that the FSF was against selling software for profit. Somebody should tell RMS so he'll stop saying he has nothing against selling software. And so the GNU project will stop selling its software.
I also didn't know Redhat isn't allowed to sell Linux. Does that mean I can get my $40 back from that copy of 6.0 I bought in '99?
I guess business week will hire fact checkers as soon as cnn.com hires proofreaders...and MS hires QA analysts (call me flamebait, but I couldn't resist the urge).
It's like a preemptive out of court settlement for anything you might want to sue over. However if you have grounds for a suit, talk to a lawyer before signing. If you don't have any grounds for a lawsuit, take the free money...you'll need it in this job market.
When they cut our development team in July, they had a team of cops there.

I'm not claiming my info's up to date. I know new versions of both are out now.
How can you make such a strong criticism of KDE or GNOME when you admit you're uninformed?
I've used KDE earlier this year, and can't remember anything I couldn't do from their GUI (except customize my window manager like Enlightenment, so I stuck with E).
Ooh boy...windows xp will force you to click an 'override' or 'do it anyway' button sometimes. Under a *real* multiuser operating system (like Linux), the user accounts can try to destroy system files all they want, but all they have is r-x permission at most. That is protection from both malevolent users and inept ones.
The only thing really comforting to a new user about windows is the fact that it's already there. Put any modern OS on a computer pre-installed and our moms will be okay with it.

You have the right to refuse it.

Steve Guttenburg and Ally Sheedy. Was it hit by lightning first?
