At the time, I wasn't in the IT deparment at my work, I was working in our Art Deparment, doing IT for ONLY the Macs and outputting printing film.
Well everyone knew I was way better at computers then the current Systems Admin. So everyone came to me with thier problems, PC or Mac... Since I wasn't getting paid the "IT" salary, I had enough of the abuse and constant interruptions. At the end I had 5 bosses!!!!
So I wrote a letter telling them how I felt, and how I have no intension of leaving or anything like that, but I wanted to be moved into the It department full time, where I'm must needed. And I didn't discuss any money at this point....
And you know what, they fired the current Sys Admin, and moved me into the IT deparment full time. And making tones of money......
It just goes to show you, that you NEED to be tackful, and be very careful and how you handle this.
I just expressed how I really felt. I told them the truth. If the company and position is worth it, they will understand...
I think the question really is, where do you use it?!!?!?
At the age of 31, I've yet to use cursive on a daily bases. Unless I'm writting notes or something like that, for my own purpose.
Everyone at work, prints or uses email. No one uses cursive here.
Back in the day, when people used paper as thier "Work Media", cursive was important. It made the paper or letter look important. Like it ment something...
Sorry people, but paper money should be completey drop as currency in all countries!!
Everything should be paid for, with some type of credit card.
Many people do this now, including myself. It's called a "Check Card". Just give them you card, sign it, and go!!
People need to lose that fixation that you get when you have all those bills in your hands...
Most companies are not happy making 65% profit off their goods, they want more and become more greedy!! So what do they do?? They do stuff like this, they look for ways to increase case flow and in-turn increase profits. Basic...Basic...Basic...So companies will always look ways to lower salaries. Either go overseas or layoff poeple.
And this also relates to salaries...At what point would you be happy enuff with your current pay??? 60K,110K, 35k?????
I find that I don't care that someone is taking a lower pay job and shipping it overseas!! I wouldn't be doing that job anyway.
I think that's the real question....I do find that madden plays so much better on PS2 then the PC...I also find that the RGP games that do come out for the console wouldn't have the same game play as it would on the PC. I like playing with a PS2 Stick, it fits better in my hands and the buttons are better placed for me...giving me a better game play ability. I don't mind playing games on my 35" TV, etiher, listing it over the surrond sound system...This gives me a better game play...
But I don't believe I would have a better game play, playing Civ III on a console, the PC is much better in that game style...amoung others...
I know that games will never go away from the PC, but I think they need to reach the same level of game play as a console...Make things simple...
