There are some good facts about China here.

We all know there is a lot of cheap labor there in China, the question that I have...Can China price point these standards so everyone can afford them??

And does these new standards work better then what we have???

Obviously the writer or Cnet has been paid to candy code a neat little article about advertizing other MP3 players.

    Notice :
Of course, if you don't care about low battery life, aren't fond of jogging, have ample disposable income, don't need to record/encode music portably, and want to purchase music downloads only from the iTunes Music Store, then the iPod is the best the way to go. While not ideal for some niche activities, it's still hands down the best-designed MP3 player in the world.
The writer didn't mention ANYTHING about how good the iPod was...he referenced the iPod to all the negative shortcomings.

It should have been written like this

Despite the iPod shortcomings, the iPod is still the best MP3 on the market.

    1) Selection of radio genres is not that great. If all you wanted was to listen to some high-quality Internet radio, the genres and bitrates are okay, but MusicMatch and Live365 seem to be better.

Other than that iTunes seems to be a nice app to have around for a music lover, but come on, it's just one of many.

Just one of many??? Are you crazy??? Have you tried the Smart Playlist yet??? Winamp could never be so good. The whole playlist function is alone the best in the business.

    expolorer.exe = 18,020 K

That's not even close to 40mb.

Your box needs some IT work...

Look, I'm going to be honest here, it's a little sluggish sometimes.

But using iTunes from it's birth on a Mac, they have improved the speed with every update.

I think all of the users here on /. are not the "Masses", they are a selected few(many) who want power and speed from there machines. And are expecting TO MUCH, from the first release from Apple. You need to sit back and think about what they have done...

You have to understand that Mac OS 10.1, was slow as shit! But with Mac OS X 10.2 it's MUCH improved. And now with Mac OS X 10.3, it's even faster then the 2.

I'm trying to point out that, over time Apple has always got thier shit together and created a better product that no one can match....

And this one is no exception:
We are thinking of not buying anymore Macs and going all PC hardware....

WHAT?!?!?!? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?!?!?!?!?!

The biggest reasons, they said, because the IT department couldn't support them. And over in Europe they are having problems.

The first thing out of my mouth was: "What are they using OS 9??"

    And they said yes.

Over here in the US were using OS 10.2, and I said that's were you problems are coming from.

And it just so happens the Mac IT Tech is coming over here to see why were not having the problems.

We run Novell for file/print...for the Windows world.

The Mac's on the other hand use a Linux server Running NFS for a file server....

The Mac's do not have problems....

Corporate smucks are always trying to MANDATE everything they think that isn't "Standard".

Well sorry, but in printing the Macs are "Standard"!!!

The biggest RED TAPE, I've seen has been trying to convince Corporate, that Mac's DO PLAY WELL with Windows...

Are you out of your mind?!?!?!?!

Firebird would never kill Safari!!! You obviously never use Safari on a day to day bases.

Safari renders pages faster, has better CSS, and displays javascript way better then Firebird, on the Mac version.

I have know I idea why everyone thinks Firebird is so great?!?!!? I see no advantages using Firebird over IE on windows, and I see no advantages using Firebird over IE or Safari on the Mac either...
