    with mac girls it costs twice as much to get one to put out what a Linux girl puts out. They are also a little slow in the head and need the extra time to make their colors match up right.

    DOS girls are what we all need. Cheap, not too flashy, and do what you need them to do quickly.

    Linux girls take some getting used to, and don't do some of the flashier things, but are dependable for what they do.

    Windows girls do all the new flashy things and games, but like the parent said, they are likely to be carrying a few viruses

    The only problem I see is that every overhead power line is going to turn into a giant antenna picking up interference. My school got squeemish enough about a teacher with too long of an ethernet cable, what about miles and miles of power lines out in the open during an electrical storm?

    ....that this one has a budget of more than $20. I mean, last time SciFi did this, while the writing was pretty good, the acting (particularly Duke Leto) was like watching Al Gore. More than half the sets were sand filled soundstages with cheap backgrounds painted on the backgrounds.

    I'm glad I can now walk through the desert without the sand worms attacking

    With the upcoming Desert War II, President Bush wants to make sure that the Iraqis riding on sandworms won't be able to get behind our lines and cause horrofic dammage like they did before.

    There are also unconfirmed reports of a new spiritual leader who has been supplying them with rocket launchers and teaching them how to ambush the spi--, er, oil smugglers. Let's just hope there isn't a sand storm when Bush visits....

    industry standard-DRM will NEVER take hold unless it's forced by law, and then non-DRM countries will make a killing smuggling in non-DRM hardware.

    If there is no law passed, only pressure from the industry, that won't work. The people who do implement it will lose their business to those who don't implement it. And remember, the Tech industry dwarfs the music industry. Will Sony risk its $40 billion electronics division to help out it's 'slice of $20 billion' music division?

    if they do try to get legislation, the tech industry will fight back. It will be like the Jananese attacking pearl harbor all over again. A small defiant attack will bring hell upon them.

    Until they stop costing 2x as much as an equivalent BSD server, they will never hold their own. Sure, they might be easier to work with, but at 2x the cost, I could just get two servers that are more secure, faster, and have a wide base of admins who know how to handle them. Apple made a step in the right direction with their adoptation of a BSD kernel, but the price is still too high

    Hopefully, they'll discover that they can pave the roads with old ibooks, otherwise, we're going to have a massive environmental problem once people realize that they just got suckered into paying 2X as much for what they could have gotten in a PC laptop and they start throwing out their old laptops. That would be great.
