1) Look at Paycheck
2) Remember the numbers on it
3) Go to Class Reunion
4) Laugh at jocks who are earning 40k a year less than you for twice the hours.
5) Remove self from locker.
with mac girls it costs twice as much to get one to put out what a Linux girl puts out. They are also a little slow in the head and need the extra time to make their colors match up right.
DOS girls are what we all need. Cheap, not too flashy, and do what you need them to do quickly.
Linux girls take some getting used to, and don't do some of the flashier things, but are dependable for what they do.
Windows girls do all the new flashy things and games, but like the parent said, they are likely to be carrying a few viruses
Now not only does slashdot post duplicate stories, but they have a link to the duplicated story in the summary. It's a good plan, as it pre-empts the 500 karma-whores from posting the link in the discussion.
Senator: Wow, there are some really good points in this paper....maybe we should re-examine this DMCA thing...
Secretary: I have a Ms. Rosen on the line. She wants to know if you want the front or the backs of the bills when she wallpapers your house with money.
Senator: Tell her I'll want some toilet paper as well. These position papers leave me dry and chaffed.
About time. Now Herr Reichmarshall Ashcroft can track Democr^H^H^H^H^H^H Commun^H^H^H^H^H^H terrorists. And we all know those who oppose this are probally doing something un-american. And of course Ashcroft, as the god-fearing american will never exploit this to violate our consitutional rights.
Once again we see the world driven by the porn industry. I can see it now. Some fly-by-night porn producer sets up a terrahertz camera aimed at the women's locker room of the local health club.
That reminds me. Where can I get one of these. I'm on my way to workout.
The only problem I see is that every overhead power line is going to turn into a giant antenna picking up interference. My school got squeemish enough about a teacher with too long of an ethernet cable, what about miles and miles of power lines out in the open during an electrical storm?
....that this one has a budget of more than $20. I mean, last time SciFi did this, while the writing was pretty good, the acting (particularly Duke Leto) was like watching Al Gore. More than half the sets were sand filled soundstages with cheap backgrounds painted on the backgrounds.
....Is that John Ashcroft is just tring to get back at the citizens of Missouri for electing a dead guy instead of him. Too bad that the rest of us are going down with them.
I was about to napalm ClearChannel's headquarters when this came up. So do we love them or hate them now? Perhaps I'll just bomb them with something less deadly like my collection of AOL CDs.
I'm glad I can now walk through the desert without the sand worms attacking
With the upcoming Desert War II, President Bush wants to make sure that the Iraqis riding on sandworms won't be able to get behind our lines and cause horrofic dammage like they did before.
There are also unconfirmed reports of a new spiritual leader who has been supplying them with rocket launchers and teaching them how to ambush the spi--, er, oil smugglers. Let's just hope there isn't a sand storm when Bush visits....
"Back in my day, we didn't even have cybornetic implants. We had to interface with the computer through this thing that had all of these buttons, and another thing that moved around and had 3 buttons. And another thing. We had a command line. When we used Xwindow, the corners were so sharp we had customers sue us for it. That's why we had to use the round ones. And there was this company called apple....."
industry standard-DRM will NEVER take hold unless it's forced by law, and then non-DRM countries will make a killing smuggling in non-DRM hardware.
If there is no law passed, only pressure from the industry, that won't work. The people who do implement it will lose their business to those who don't implement it. And remember, the Tech industry dwarfs the music industry. Will Sony risk its $40 billion electronics division to help out it's 'slice of $20 billion' music division?
if they do try to get legislation, the tech industry will fight back. It will be like the Jananese attacking pearl harbor all over again. A small defiant attack will bring hell upon them.
Until they stop costing 2x as much as an equivalent BSD server, they will never hold their own. Sure, they might be easier to work with, but at 2x the cost, I could just get two servers that are more secure, faster, and have a wide base of admins who know how to handle them. Apple made a step in the right direction with their adoptation of a BSD kernel, but the price is still too high
Hopefully, they'll discover that they can pave the roads with old ibooks, otherwise, we're going to have a massive environmental problem once people realize that they just got suckered into paying 2X as much for what they could have gotten in a PC laptop and they start throwing out their old laptops. That would be great.
A story about a version D&D for linux sent in by Wil Wheaton.
If I'm running low on fuel, if i can pull over and load up on taco bell to keep it running
How long until GWB decides to go to war against japan?
