The motivation for achieving Mars is much less than the moon. The reason for this is because there was extreme speculation that the Moon was made of green cheese. Mars is already assumed to have red dust on it. For a society that gorges itself on Big Macs and Cheese Fries this is hardly a worthwhile goal. And as a programmer myself I understand the need to work on projects that will benefit the community as a whole, not on one that will invade a dirt planet.
Maybe not everyone has 300 bucks to float to Macromedia for their software in order to put up a small animation. I think there should be a good and viable alternative to gifs and flash.
What about the animation that gifs bring to the web? I know that no one was using the animated functionality of a gif back when the PNG specs were being drawn up but I think it's time to look back into it. It at least give users an alternative to Macromedia Flash especially whilst using GIMP. Long live open source
but the article said that in 20 years Apple has never sold an icon to a desktop in their operating system. This may be true but if you install OS X you will be asked to sign up for an Earthlink account. To me that sounds like advertising sold to Earthlink to place their company ahead of others. Just a thought.
"We believe that even an overhead of 58% is not prohibitive for sites that value security." I really wonder if 58% overhead is worth it. It seems to me this is still a little massive for this kind of thing. ReVirt and VMWare both do a good job of keeping the overhead down but I think there will have to be innovations in areas other than virtual machines for this kind of thing.
That's not necessarily true. Most people lack the motivation to actually sit down and learn something like that. The kind of people who would...well they'd probably figure out how to do it some other way eventually. It's not really a goldmine until you do something productive with it. In the meantime it's a nice way for the/. crowd to flex their geek muscles by spending half their workday looking at worm code.:)

They only shoot dead chickens. They previously used gelatin but it didn't model chickens properly.
"a digital man who may or may have a million dollars"....depending on whether or not there is a Sims Online 2. I think that it sucks that The Sims Online didn't do as well as it could have, to me it seemed like a perfect game to network. Unfortunately when real life people are in a game such as that they aren't going to react the way computer generated players will. This is why I play video games. To get away from the bulshit.
I'm curious if anyone knows what kind of increase in revenue the legal industry has been receiving in the last 5-10 years. With all this litigation over copyrights and piracy it seems to me it won't ever go away. Not with this kind of attention and with this kind of opportunity to make money off of it.

Finding Nemo is already available via the internet through a crappy cam recording released by WAREZ group FTF.

Every office should have a foosball table. Challenge your bastard boss to a game if you're pissed at him. Both of you will come out of it sweating and realizing that maybe you are not so different after all. Besides...there's nothing quite like yelling at your opponent because the plastic ball got stuck under one of your players feet.
How is that comment flamebait? I'm just curious because I think that it was a decent comment. Definitely not worthy of -1 Flamebait. The Test did have serious lag problems and I decided not to play as much as I might have if there hadn't been so many issues with it. I was on a extremely fast Cable Modem Connection in a rural area with not many competing high speed users around and still found players teleporting to other parts of the screen constantly. If you don't bother to even read a comment then don't mod it down.
Everyone knows Z Electric is the best company to go with. I mean you get $100 off your bill every month if subscribe to MSN Internet for the beginner's 10 Year Plan. (Sort of like the whole Best Buy deal you can get) Oh and Microsoft swears it's the best internet you can get next to 1st Generation Text-Based Prodigy.
MP3 is not THE standard. It is one of many standards. It may be the most widely used right now but that's because of applications like Napster which propelled it into the limelight overnight. It's all about creativity and how you work with the standards. For instance I know of many amazing web sites which follow web standards to the letter. And what's surprising is that they have used CREATIVITY to develop and mimic sites that use "non-standard" eye candy without ever breaking the rules of standard'ism.
Well money is the motivation behind a lot of companies and as long as Gator continues to make revenue there will be people to support it. My mother continues to somehow install it on her Windows box. It's not so hard to get rid of but I can't imagine anyone wanting it on their box.

Pop in the cd and out pops an operating system with a crispy-crusty-tender-flaky crust.
a movie about a foosball player got a better rating than BioDome. Thank you for reminding me why I watch TBS SuperStation all weekend.

Now this comment is probably worthy of flamebait.
It doesn't from lag as badly as the test.
No it doesn't come with leather but I did hear it does come with a soldered on whistle tip courtesy of Bubb Rubb and Lil' Sis.
They need to do more research. Look at this photo from the archives. It shows that Segways were used long before now. Conspiracy is key.
Just in case you are retarded and haven't watched the laugh out loud videos at http://www.segway.com, here's a linky.
